  1. I have two new lure building spreadsheet tools available: 1 - TU resin lure calc – Designed to help with the amount of filler (MBs) and ballast required to achieve the required buoyancy without having to resort to many trial and error builds. 2 - TU wood lure calc – As above but designed for carved lures (wood, PVC or other). Many members have the Ballast Calculator, an older tool. I feel that No2 above is a better tool for this job as it takes into account internal and external hardware as well as ballast. So if anyone requests the Ballast Calculator in future, I will deliver No2 above. If anyone wants these tools, PM me with your email address and I will send both. Dave

  5. Here in NorCal, on the CA Delta, red craw squarebills work well on levee rip rap, and around shallow wood. Bluegill is also a good pattern, because the bigger bass here are bluegill eaters.

  7. When I use the belt sander on PVC deck boards is when I get melting, if I try to take too much off at once with a fine belt. I don't seem to have that problem with 60 grit. I sometimes get wispy trailers, like spider webs, if I try to rip it on the table saw with a duller blade. Heat buildup seems to be the common denominator, so keeping my tools sharp, whether it's hand tools or power tools, has been key for me when I'm working with PVC, especially the deck boards.

  9. I hear you man a Photoshop license is expensive albeit far less expensive these days now that it is subscription based. I've used GIMP in the past and it is a powerful program. Any way I can help you man just let me know. Also, I recently watched the 36 Hours series on YT. Man that was one of the best fishing shows I've ever seen. Loved it! I have two bucket list trips: one to South America for Peacock Bass and another to Canada for pike, walleye, sturgeon, etc. You guys have so many awesome species there you must be in heaven:)

  10. Usually you can go up or down one size on a Do-It mold. If you need to go really big, take the hook place it in the mold, close the mold and lightly tap the mold with a hammer. This will give you an impression on the mold halves on where you need to cut. The you can use a Dremel as mentioned above or a hand file. The mold is alum. and soft, so go slow and steady.
