The 2021 Coolest Lure Contest is now closed. I will be going through and eliminating any duplicates, entries that need to be deleted, etc. We will be judging during the next two weeks. I will post here with updates as needed.

What happens if you add the dye before heating? Looks like the dye is not dissolved. I'd bet it would dissolve in raw plastic.

lay side down then put something flat on other flat side measure distance between, half what the distance is your center easiest way to do it now is use an adjustable square, set it to the center measurement and put a pencil/pen and run it top and bottom. My .02

Read a lot on it, have not tried it yet. Createx has some info on the different methods, but, let us know how it works.

+ 1 on widening port near the bait - it's all about controlling the dents - last part to cool dents the worst. Luckily that wire will help a little as it will absorb some heat notably cooling the tail first. J.

Agreed,,, put the die in and stir before heating .

I cant get away from mf easy stretch and bounce. I even mix them together. The only draw back to bounce is it wont laminate unless duel injected. The easy stretch has no draw back. I use soft bounce as a softner and never need a hardner for es med/firm. I also use bounce medium as a softner for es.

Hey Guys I have dead on plastic, purchased the "White swimbait/jerbait" and "Black Worm Soft/Medium I have some straight white, straight black, and mixed some 50/50 I'm new to all this but it doesnt seem right that this is happening I have a few opaque colors that dissolve fine into the heated plastic ( like bubblegum, hot pink, black etc ) without issue Typically i will heat in slow increments, stir, heat, stir etc. until past the gel stage and plastisol becomes clear and liquidly Usually around 320f ish at that point I'll add dye & create a color, then heat in 30-60 secs at a time again until past 350f as recommended by dead-on , then pour. So all my dyes are from Lureworks...The ones I'm having problems with are Blaze Orange 110 is 3 - TRANSLUCENT | SLIGHT BLEED, Cerise 211 is 3 - TRANSLUCENT | SLIGHT BLEED & Chameleon Dye 154 is 5 - TRANSPARENT | BLEED I Have wasted too much plastic Now if i add the dye before heating the plastisol it dissolves totally fine, but this is useless as i cannot create any colors, I would have to know recipes already I am reaching out to Dead-On to see what they say but any ideas ?
