  1. You might try this material and make a glove mold. Then you will be able to see your bait and know where to cut to get it open. And it is reusable, over and over. Translucent silicone Mold Max Silicone Rubber
  2. On the agenda, is there any interest in seeing an RTV crankbait mold built from scratch. I can make 2 molds in 3 pours, normally it takes 4. I have no material on hand, will have to order, so let me know. Also, I think I can make one or both of these molds a mold inside a mold, sounds crazy, but it eliminates one serious casting problem, pressure.
  3. As of now, Charlie and I will be there. Hobo is correct Nate, what about onion rings?
  4. So Pete, your the one that pushed me in the pond.
  5. Check this site. It is compiled by one of our very own. Gene Graham, aka Lincoya;) THE SCIENCE BEHIND MAKING YOUR OWN CRANKBAIT LIPS The Science Behind Making Your Own Crankbait Lips
  6. Fantastic job on lure and tutorial!!!!
  7. I didn't lose it, but I dropped a flipping stick on a hook set and it came up and went down, I followed it around for about 10 min until I could reach it. A 2# bass was still on the jig.
  8. Great idea! I'll bring mine and a tripod also.

    quad hook?

BassPro had a big sale on Strikeking quad hooks. I see why, they break. No telling how many I broke. I quit using them.
  10. If you can find a bait shop to sell them for you, with no investment involved on their part, you could probably work out some sort of deal, say 25% to them and the rest to you. The advantage you have is, custom made.

    DT2 replacement

Direct order. I have used it along with DT2 for about 3 yrs.
  12. There is a coating on the market very much like DT2 and just as good. Its called Fasco 39. It also is much cheaper. And it is a 2 part epoxy. I have been using it. Get it here Fasco unlimited Coley
  13. Gene, Charlie and I stayed at the Best Western the first trip and it was nice. Charlie and I stayed there the second trip and it was OK. I stayed there last year and my room smelled so bad I made them move me to another room. Charlie and I will be in the Hampton this year. It is really nice.

    pvc board

Is that the same material as "rigid PVC foam board"? If so, I use it all the time. I make all my flat sided baits out of it. It cuts great and will hold an eyescrew as good as wood. The problem is sanding, it hates sandpaper and sands very hard. Carving is no problem either.
  15. I have had this one for 5 yrs. I turn lures and pens on it, no problems. G9247 VS Mini Wood Lathe

    Lure stamp

Go to a printer or look on the net and you will find they can make you a rubber stamp of your signature. They can make it about as small as you want. Use India ink in any color to stamp your name on your lure. Even rolls around curved surfaces. Devcon 2T will not smear the ink.
  17. I think 10# would last me a lifetime. Thanks.
  18. Question for all you guys that will attend. If anyone is interested, I still have a lot of textured powder paint at home, (see TU Classified ad, to read more) I can bring it to the TU meet, if anyone wants some. Let me know who you are and how much you want, and I will bring as much as you guys want, and as much as my truck will hold. BTW the powder paint is free, and best of all you save on shipping. I would like to have some of the medical white for my sauger jigs. I can bring my own container. Coley
  19. Date change is good for Charlie and I. We already have reservations at the Hampton Inn. If you haven't met Charlie, you will love him. Great guy to be around. The hushpuppies last year were his recipe. Charlie, Gene and I met on TU. Do you want onion rings again this year??? We are planning to have a Hobo, will explain later. As a hint, the cooking is done in a 30 gal garbage can. I will be taking my pistol to the pond and if one of you:sauced: push me in, you get shot. Looking forward to a great, great time.
  20. Zoom didn't start this. I believe Bagley did this a long time ago.

  25. Balsa USA is a good source for "hard balsa", I say hard because it makes the better balsa baits. Just give them a call and tell them you want hard balsa blocks. In the past I have used the 3"x3"x6" block and traced my pattern out on the side, cut the block and then with a bandsaw, slice the baits off the thickness I want to start with. Just make sure to keep your saw blade and table at a perfect 90 degrees. Balsa that has a density of 11 to 14 lbs/CuF is considered hard.
