  1. The reason there is such a difference in the products is, Featherlite already has microballoons in it. Go with Alumilite RC-3, you will really like it.
  2. Sorry, the Rookie is all wet about the cost of pouring baits from Alumilite. Your start up cost will run about $1.25-$1.40 per bait. After that its about $0.85 per bait. This includes is everything for a completely finished lure. I have been making molds and casting baits for a few years myself.
  3. I don't think it was styrofoam and acetone. Try solo clear plastic cups and virgin lacquer thinner. This will seal baits, but will not work as a clearcoat. I don't know of any mixtures that we make that will work as a clearcoat. All clearcoats that I know of are commercially made.
  4. If you like Featherlite, try Alumilite, you will love it. It has a 1yr shelf life also. Alumilite RC-3 is like Featherlite without the micro balloons mixed in. You add exactly what you need. And yes both will hold screw eyes without any problem.
  5. This is all I could find on Booyah website, sold by Lurenet.com BOOYAH Bi-You Buzz Larger Image and it is a buzzbait, Can you post a site I can see it??
  6. check this page, Buzz blades, buzzbait blades, buzzbait parts
  7. Featherlite, sucks. Like Red said it has a crust on part B, I had some that wouldn't break-up and mix, had to strain it out. I suggest Alumilite RC-3 and Micro-balloons. You will be happy with the results.

  9. I might of misunderstood, I read it, that he was rotating the lures around in a flat circle, sticking straight out. Not in a vertical circle. If it is a vertical circle, it won't matter how the lures are attached. I think of a disco ball hanging straight down. Coley
  10. The lure must rotate in a vertical plane, from top to bottom. Then it won't have lumps.

    Wokshops

I have two small rooms, power tools on one end, painting and clear coating on the other.
  12. Hold on guys. The point is this, "Are you willing to pay up to $60 a year for what you have now and what Jerry is proposing" and thats all it is.
  13. It appears to me that less than 1.5% really cares what happens to TU. Only 76 votes out of 6000 plus members. Very disappointing!!
  14. Well, well, well, we have indeed, two kinds of opinions, A "yes" and a "no", and reasons why yes will fail and reasons why no is what I want. Are there any reasons why "yes" will not fail. I'll give you one. We, as senior members of the site seldom post anymore. Why?? because we are sick and tired of the same old, same old questions. How do you make a crankbait, does anyone of you realize how long it would take you to tell someone how to make a crankbait. I have responded to several questions on the site, asking for email addresses to send info, with pics and explanations on how to do it. Maybe 2 responded. My feeling is, "yes" it will help bring the seniors back. I am all for it.

Damn. Pete, you have marveled the entire group on TU. Finally something KC doesn't know.
  16. The Crystal Fireline snaps at the knot alot. I paid $33 for a large spool an took it all off my reels and threw it away. I went back to using the smoke Fireline and have had no trouble. I use 1oz jigs for Sauger in 30'-50' of water.
  17. I have 2 of Swede's baits finished like that. Natural, they are beautiful.
  18. Yea, I agree with Gene, thanks. You and Jerry are close, I kinow his is close to this date, either before or after. Happy birthday to both of you.
