  1. Fatman, I don't use round bobbers as I find the cigar shape ones better than the round ones.. I did a few videos one being on how to modify a cigar shape cork as a float n fly cork. Another video on the same site talking about the lift bite process. www.youtube.com/georgiatackle Hope this helps Mike
  2. Here is a blog I wrote on this very subject. Scroll down to Trophy fish with Swimbaits header Guidin’ Mike
  3. Here is what I use to display my baits in my shops. I choose to not do packaging and to use the display case as a show piece. I have a buddy that builds furniture to make them for me . It weighs about 5lbs or so and ships easily. Scroll down to the very bottom left hand picture. I tried to post the actual picture on here but I got a little red x??? Bull Shad Swimbait Photos
  4. Hey Guys, Thanks for the feedback. I have a 6 and a 7 incher now. Working on my major carnage the 8 incher now. The swim can best be described as a natural swimming motion. Not an exaggerated S motion by any means but more natural just like the way a gizzard and a shiner actually swims. Somewhat tight wiggle but not very tight. Maybe I need to do a video. Thanks again for the kind words. Mike

  7. Stacyfishes, Hey man I wish I had those pics archived myself. I originally posted that article on the BFHP but it went through some changes and got deleted. Actually I don't even have access to what was printed here without the pictures so I am kinda relieved to see that the wording is still available. Honestly I wouldn't fool with the durhams water puty. There are much better and not to mention safer products to use like Silicone. I wrote that article when I was uh young and brave LOL. There is alot of clean up with the water putty and the fact that it is made with a water mixture it could explode on you when hot lead comes into contact with it. Just not a safe deal here. BTW can I ask what email you used to email me recently and it got bounced back? Mike
  8. I guess my question is why doesn't or can FTP take this to the next level and come out with some cheaper alternatives to what they currently have. What they have is great but what blackjack has would be nice but how about some solid black eyes or rainbow trout eyes or ovals. Seems like these would be huge sellers if you can do it cheaper (if it's even possible). I know you can make them but I already make everything else so I'd like a freebie every once in a while LOL. Mike
  9. Guys there has to be a cheaper version of eyes like the Taxidermy companies offer. I know of the witchcraft option. Seems like a cheaper option would be a huge hit? Any suggestions?? Not sure what I am looking for other than something different than Witch Craft... Mike
  10. Guys, Anyone know where i can find some BIG buzzbait blades?? Like similiar to the Boogerman Musky Buzzbait? Mike
  11. Guys, Ledgebuster uses a cool spinnerbait trailer on some of their. It consists of a skirt collar and 2 long and Wide (1/4 inch or so wide) pieces of (white in color in this case) rubber attached to the skirt collar. YOu thread the skirt collar up under your skirt and you got these 2 long and wide pieces of rubber as a trailer on your spinnerbait. These 2 pieces extend about 2 inches or so beyond the spinnerbait skirt.. WHere do me get some?? Mike
  12. heavycover, Can you elaborate on the heat gun?? Your right the torch method is inconsistant atleast for me it is. A link would be nice? Mike
  13. Gots dayum now thats a wire harness!!! LOL. My V joint isn't all that deep so if the mold is flexible like a car tire I should be Ok. The tricky part would be making the mold. I don't know what the consistancy of RTV is in it's just after mixed state but if it's putty it's going to be tricky. Then I am tinkering with having the ballast weight hole pre made as well. Not sure if I want to do that or just drill it after the fact. I don't know how easy that foam stuff fills a cavity. Lots of What if's!! But I'd like to hear more ideas. So What foam do you like best Kahawi? Also how have you weighted your baits? Love the scale patterns! Mike
  14. I am looking to mold a 3-4 piece jointed swimbait design I have out of Foam. I've done the board searches and my head hurts with all of the information available to the point that I still haven't made a decision yet LOL. Questions that I have 1. whats the best for the buck foam to use for swimbaits in the 6-8 inch range and where do I get it? Specifically what brand and formula.. 2. The bait I want to mold has a V joint. Anyone got an idea on how to make a mold with a V joint and what mold material they would reccommend? I have alot of experience with Durhams Water Putty using for lead but not sure what mold material would be best for a V jointed bait and using foam? I am definitely going to probably need 3 seperate molds for the 3 seperate pieces. If I can't mold the V joint in the mold I might have to mold it flat and make the V Joint manually. Thoughts? words of wisdom? 3. I hear alot about having to clean the foam body up before painting and release agent? I think I have everything else in my head down pat. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  15. I just have a hard time thinking you need a flat eyelet vs a straight one?? The line tie is at the same exact angle and the gap is the same??? Just weird why there is this sudden craze over a flat eyelet but nobody can explain why it's better? I've been using the straight eyelet and have no problems on hookups. I guide for Spotted bass in deep clear lakes here in Georgia over 150 + days a year and we have zero problems. Now if your comparing a 60 degree to a 90 degree then your onto something. 60 degree bend is quite a bit more weedless than a 90 degree bend. Ever use a jig to flip grass or heavy wood with a 90 degree bend hook?? hangup city. Just .02. T Mike
