Dews so far i've made about a 100 of each type and their clean with no sanding needed. i'm using .063 lexan tried some .063 pc board no go on that my arm is not stout enough to punch that. Scoop the CC was really excited about getting my request seems nobody had ever wanted any thing like that done. It really speeds up doing bills that was the only part about making baits i didn't really enjoy but it's all part of it! Now it's get my master put several in my holder and drill my holes

Andrew i thought about something similar but they already had it cut out like it is i thought about trying to fix something just to make a dimple or some way to tell where to put the holes but i may leave well enough alone Skeeter yeah it works like a hole punch for paper t can punch one type at a time

About 10 months ago I carried three bills that I use a lot to the Cad/Machine Class at the community college close to me. They made me a die to stamp out my bills. I bought the 1/2ton press and the stand for about $50. They made the die and mounted in to the press its made so you can only punch one type at a time don't think you could press more with arm pressure anyway. It works nice and makes a nice bill. The way it's made you change punches for which ever and put the ram over that die and let her rip. You can make a bunch of bills in no time but you still have to find the center line and drill the holes maybe that will be next! i fix the bill in one and it's not balsa or cedar never heard of banak what is that

Does anybody know what kind of wood the old Lohr's Lures as in the LL10s & 20s were made of.

i make mine out of 19ga. wire i get at tractor supply use a pair of round nose pliers and a cordless drill you can make a bunch in a hurry

i use a small laminate router with a 1/4" roundover bit so far i still have all my fingernails the trick is go sloooooowwww and steady don't try to take to much at a time after rounding both side i use sanding block i made it has a 1/2" slot made by clamping two3/4" pieces together and drill a 1/2" hole between the peices i put sticky back sand paper on it finish up with some sanding on the sides to get the sharp edges works for me

skeeter i do my baits almost same as you how do you clean slot after sealing the wood before paint. i dipp my balsa baits in a concoction of clear plastic spoons and lacquer thinner the only complaint with the way i do it the slots get filled with sealer and have to be cleaned out which sometimes causes problems of keeping slot square to the body.

I for one would like to here some more of skeeter's opinions on deep and shallow cranks

I do the same thing first cut wire 3" long bend in the middle with round tip pliers put about 1/4" in portable drill (varible speed) and hold with pliers and twist em with drill I can make a bunch in a hury

i quit coating my durhams molds with devcon and started spraying about 3 coats of high heat paint (900') you canget it at walmart or auto parts store it's made to paint brake calipers and drums i like it a lot better cause you don't loose detail inside the mold like with devcon

what about durum's water putty would it work to make a mold out of

thinking about making some foamys and have a few ?s 1.how well are the bondo molds holding up 2.can you treat the foam bodies like balsa after they cure (as in installing lips,line ties,weights etc.) or do you have to do molded in lip and through wire 3.how much different is weighting the baits as compared to balsa 4.and last will a rtv rubber mold made with Shore 60 strength rubber work for the foam I hate to be so long winded but need to know before buying my materials
