  3. I did some research on the web and found some kayak weld kits that look almost like hot glue. I had a guy reply on another site that said he used a fiberglass repair kit for his and it worked great. I may try this. Red I'll let you know what I try and how it worked. Scott
  4. I have an eight foot plastic BassHunter "pond hopper" boat that is about ten years old and I have finally wore about a quarter size hole in the bottom corner . I am looking for reccommendations for repairing the hole. I thought about shooting some great stuff foam in the hole then covering it with something but not sure what to use to cover. Anyone have any ideas??? Thanks Scott
  5. I have never had a problem with air bubbles that big Frank. I have trouble with small air bubbles that was addressed in other posts and my remedy for that was swithching cups after plastic is melted. Scott
  6. I also switched to popcorn salt and have no problems pouring now. I use two molds (11 cavities) per 1/2 cup plastic. I stir after each cavity poured to keep salt suspended. Best place to buy popcorn salt that I could find was a party supply store that sells by the case. Scott
  7. Just got back from my monthly club tourny and I weighred in 5 fish 11-6 all caught on baits I made . Like Cal said it is very addictive and with lots of practice it gets fairly east to make baits. Read as much as you can and learn from other posts then decide for yourself. Scott Now the only plastics I throw are ones I make!!
  8. Do a search about sticks and you will see the consensus on pouring sticks is practice practice practice!!! It takes a few pours to get consistent at it. Once you get consistent pouring plain sticks then try multi colored or laminates. Scott
  9. Jim our club just bought our new year tourny shirts from Sewin Sams. He is located in Texas. Each shirt ran us $60.00 with our name and club name on the front and our logo on the back. Scott
  10. I agree with you Jim, whenever I shake mine the result is lots of bubbles I put bolts in bottom of jugs and that helps a little. Scott
  11. Del makes an aluminum mold that he calls a diamond tail. This is pretty close to the Zoom finesse worm. I have this mold. Scott
  12. About the only thing I think you left out was a quality respirator!! Scott
  13. DJ sounds like you didn't mix it well enough. I had the same problem with a batch from a new 5 gallon container I just poured it back into bucket and mixed it for 10 minutes longer. Results were much better next time around. Scott
  14. Texas rigged 3/0 wide gap hook with light unpegged bullet weight 1/8 to 1/4oz weight pitched any type of cover. Scott
  15. Nice name for a sweet beaver I think I've heard it before Do a search on resin molds I am pretty sure that a 2 piece mold is next to impossible. Scott
  16. I heat my plastic in small quanities (1/2 cup) and pour twelve sticks (stirring well between each stick) thus never reheating. Just pour steady straight down the middle of the opening until full then top off all the way to the top. Then watch previous cavity and top off again as shrinkage occurs. Try to figure out how much plastic your mold will hold then use that amount of plastic for your pours. The less you reheat the truer the coloring and glitters will be Scott
  17. I just use plastic milk cartons rinsed and completely dried then transfered with a mixing cup after mixing well with paint mixer and drill. Scott
  18. From 1 cup you should get anywhere from 20-25 baits. I have 2 Del mart molds (11 cavities) and I pour a 1/2 cup at a time this way I don't have to reheat but maybe once to squeeze out 1 more stick. Less reheating = alot less effect on your coloring and glitter. Scott
  19. It's only February those above the Mason Dixon Line haven't quite thawed out yet so your run should go well into April. Good for business bad for personal time which includes fishing!!! Scott
  20. Flat tip screwdriver for me. Handles are insulated. Scott
  21. All I want to know is how do you get up those stairs and then back down Scott
  22. Anyone have a recipe for roadkill? Not sure what it is supposed to look like Scott
  23. When I get a telemarketer on the phone I just set the phone down and then hang it up in five minutes. That way they can waste only their time and not mine!!! Scott
