  3. I use Calhoun plastic and don't use stabilizer very often. I use it primarily with fluorescent colors and pink. Additionally if I have to reheat more than three times I'll add a couple drops to a 1/2 cup. Scott
  4. Bobs Tackle Shack does have them. I emailed him last week and he sent one to me for $38.00 with postage for 2 cavity mold. Scott

Once you catch a fish on a lure you made from scratch you'll be hooked!!!!! Have fun with it and remember results take a little time, patience and practice. Scott
  7. Two piece stick mold was my easiest when I first started. Scott
  8. If you are using a 2 piece mold overpour and just use a scissors to trim excess. Scott
  9. This red shad stick recipe works for me: Top 1/2 cup plastic 25 drops LC black 1/4 tsp LC red hilite salt to taste Bottom 1/2 cup plastic 20 drops LC strawberry 4 drops LC black 1/4 tsp LC red hilite salt to taste Scott
  10. I fish from a 18' 6 G3 fiberglass bass boat and an eight foot bass stalker pond boat. Scott
  11. Another vote for 5 gallons if you can afford it. It's addictive Scott
  12. This red shad stick recipe works for me: 1/2 cup plastic; 25 drops LC black; 1/4 tsp LC red hilite and salt to taste for top then on bottom try 1/2 cup plastic, 20 drops LC strawberry; 4 drops LC black; 1/4 tsp LC red hilite and salt to taste. It took me a while to figure this formula out but I like it alot. Hope this helps. Scott
  13. Don't have a favorite color because I have enver seen them until I saw them on this site. Do they work in the southeast? How do you fish them? Scott
  14. You can remelt the standard plastic lures. It has been my experience that some really stink bad when reheated. I never messed with cyberflex baits, they are made of a different plastic than your standard baits. I found each to have a little different quality than the other so I just quit messing with them. I now only remelt my own lures. Just make sure when reheating you go slow ie 30 sec increments so you don't scorch the plastic. Scott
  15. Looks great Dont be shy with coloring on your sticks especially when you add alot of salt. My first few attempts looked faded/dull especially after they were reheated the color seems to dissipate. Now that you have done a double when are you going to do a triple pour? Scott
  16. I purchase red highlite from LC about two months ago from their catalog. The only problem I have noticed with LC black more so than any other color is you need to at least double the amount added to get a true deep black. My main use for black now is to bring out the best in the different highlite colors. Seems just a single drop added to the highlite colors works wonders. Happy New Year to each and everyone Scott
  17. Micro Pyrex Anyone that wants some Scott
  18. Check out the TU Get together in the forum index area. Scott
  19. I just let them cool in an aluminum pie tin then when they are cool to the touch I salt and bag them. If you are getting deformed baits then perhaps you are removing them from the mold too soon. Scott
  20. I heat up my molds (aluminum) on a regular burner. Just make sure you don't leave them on the burner too long like I did ONCE  . 'Tis the season Scott

    Worm Oil?

I used to use Johnsons Baby oil but couldn't stand the smell :!: Now just some Kickin Bass. Scott 'Tis the season
  22. You can use either one I prefer salt due to less mess. 'Tis the season Scott
  23. When I first started I poured to one side. I then started pouring right down the center with a slow consistent flow and achieved much better results. Hotter plastic is easier to work with. Formulas=preference. Experiment with your formulas until you get a product you are comfortable with. 'Tis the season Scott
  24. All I could muster before running out of wind  was 297.8 and 203.1. Someone obviously had too much time alone!!!! "Tis the season Scott
  25. Jim if you are still interested in swapping I have a creature mold and a lizard mold I would like to swap either for your 6" slithren. I sent a pm to you with my address. Scott 'Tis the season
