  1. Don't pour in the house:tipsy:! Pour in a well ventilated area and don't be afraid to post a question first:)..... Scott

    Junebug

One teaspoon!!?? That seems like alot to me. I guess I will try Saint's version minus the purple and see how it goes. I tried adding some blue and black but never the red. Mike I have been using the board for a few years and I agree most recipes listed are very close but I found there was alot of skepticism surrounding junebug. Scott
  3. Plastic should be fine. Hopefull you have a batch where bubbling is not a concern. As far as Bob's site just look for the link on the left side of the page and it takes you to his mold section. Scott

Mike did you pour sticks with a high salt content? Scott
  5. Soft is good in my opinion, that's what gives the sticks the right amount of action. Too stiff not as much action. The reason I started making my own sticks was to save money because senkos tore so easily. Scott

    Junebug

Looking for a good recipe for junebug sticks. I have tried alot of different recipes all using lurecraft coloring and was wondering if anyone had tried Dels junebug. Not sure what to try next. Tks, Scott
  7. I use popcorn salt less mess and baits don't stick. Scott
  8. I would get a slight headache when I first started pouring then used a mask and the headaches stopped. Now I always wear one. Scott
  9. You can also do a search you are not the first to ask this question. Remember once you get started just practice, practice practice and when all else fails just ask a question.. Scott
  10. I am looking for a source for 1/2oz painted spinnerbait bodies. I only need about a dozen (personal use) and all I can find is Stamina that carries anything other than the bullet type head. I am trying to stay away from using Stamina because every time I ordered from them I had issues and their customer service was terrible (personal boycot). Can anyone point me in the right direction? Scott
  11. Just to add on to what Basskat stated make sure you do this in a well ventilated area. Most guys pouring use some type of respirator as well. If you can it is best to purchase a cheap/used microwave and keep it out of the house. Your plastic should have a msds sheet with it listing all hazards associated with the product. There are a ton of discussions in previous posts that you can reference as well. Scott

    RAM Mounts

I use a hand held gps that way it can go with me wherever I go if I am a non boater. The RAM mount allows me to place the gps in any position that I want it to and it never comes out including rough water. I don't think you can go wrong buying a RAM mount. Scott
  13. I use a flat tip screwdriver the handles never get hot Scott
  14. Sounds like you did not heat it long enough. The plastic will start out thin then change to a thick gooey state then to a hot thin liquid state. This is the state it should be when you pour. Once in the mold it only takes 3-4 mins at most to harden enough to remove from mold. Read some of the older posts on pouring basics to get more info like when to add color, glitter etc. If you still have questions feel free to ask. Hope this helps. Scott
  15. Practice makes perfect!! Just keep practicing and you will get good at pouring tricky areas. Until then an exacto or small scissors are your best tools. Scott
  16. Just another with bubble problems. My latest came in two buckets I think they were 3 gallon buckets because Del was out of plastic so he sent 1st shipment in a 3 gallon bucket then later sent me the rest in another 3 gallon bucket. Both buckets had bubble problems but like I have stated earlier I was convinced problem was due to humidity. Scott
  17. Post it Jim!!! Squeaky wheel gets the grease. I can't believe all the users of Calhouns with the bubble issue. If enough call maybe we can get some results! I think the number is in an old post from a couple of years ago along with the salesman who handles this product for them.. Scott
  18. I just went in my phonebook and looked for party supply stores, called around and found one that sold popcorn salt by the case. Scott
  19. Don't waste your money on a book as was stated in an earlier post just do a search. There is enough info on this site to write numerous books. If you still have any specific questions just ask. Scott
  20. I have had excellent luck with watermelon red sticks with a chartruse tip. I do what Jim said and I pour in middle of cavity for 5 secs then I take my mold apart to make sure nothing dripped on the sides and put it back together and top it off with watermelon. I have even trimmed tips if I feel they are too long. Make sure you heat up your mold before doing this. As long as the mold is fairly warm the tip sticks fine to the stick. I don't use any salt or scent in my chartreuse tip. Scott
  21. I used water when I first started but now I lay them on the wifes washer and dryer (she reminds me when I forget about them for too long ) to cool. When I go to package my worms I just add a little popcorn salt to the bag put the worms in the bag and mix them up real good. I don't keep alot on hand I try to pour to order. Scott
  22. I used worm oil at first also but I just add a little salt to the bag instead. I'm not a big fan of using worm oil. Scott
  23. Water test was a complete success fiberglass is the ticket!! Thanks for the tip Dwain! Boat seems allot lighter without all that water weight lol! Scott
  24. Conman no offense taken just having a little fun !! PM your address I have some extras. Scott
  25. I patched the hole with fiberglass last night and it seems to have bonded to the plastic quite well. I will give it the water test tomorrow. So far so good. Scott
