  1. I ordered some worms from Al a while back and have been tearing up the bucketmouths behind the house on them. I gave some to a pal who tourney fishes a lot (along with some of Joe's cranks) and he has actually won a few dollars on them.
  2. FYI...Bayou Black and Gibson took a lot of water from Hurricane Rita but no reported fish kills. A pal with a camp about 20 miles south of the Bayou Black landing had 4 feet of water in his bunkhouse, luckily the main camp is a floater and didn't top out.

    Joe

I talk to Joe a few times a week. He has been busy cleaning up at work and home. He lost pretty much everything that he left home. he and his family are fine though. He bought a place outside Baton Rouge and is commuting into Nawlins. and yeah, he lost all his stock and luremaking equipment but will begin getting back into the swing of things as soon as possible. Unfortunately, he lost most of his retail outlets....hopefully they'll be back.
  4. Gibson and Bayou Black sustained zero damage I went there the Tuesday after the storm... again, no damage
  5. I've heard of people mixing in some petroleum jelly with their scents to make a "butter"...
  6. If you do it and want to do the online thing, let me know, I am setting up a true online "mall" and am in the market for "stores"
  7. I have a blend that works great for both bass and saltwater fishies... I market it as a lure marinade but I'm quite sure it'd work well mixed with plastic
  8. I gots a 19 foot Carolina Skiff for some bass, inshore and nearshore saltwater.....7 foot pond hopper for the slow-moving bayous
  9. to pull the non-business end of a hook through my lures I use a small crochet needle
  10. I am quite dissatisfied with the efforts of Citizens for Equal Access...they have disappeared when they should be gearing up for the next legislative session. I have created an online petition on my forum, prior to the next legislative session I will print it all out and deliver it to my State Rep, Don Cazayoux to help him keep up the fight that he started last year. Check it out, read it, sign it. http://huntnfish.com/cgi-bin/cforums.cgi?forumid=108013813416132&threadid=9990180948383&action=thread A little background for yall: Louisiana's marshes are partially public, partially private and over the past couple of years landowners have put up gates and used "thugs" to run folks off water that we all have fished for generations. The landowner's organization got key legislators to pass a law denying public access without even a "posted" sign. That's right, you can be arrested just for fishing. And with the erosion problem we have down here, most people fish on "private" property. It just ain't right! We had an organization called Citizens for Equal Access but they have disappeared. All that is left is their website, www.citizensforequalaccess.com
