  1. Not trying to be mean, but please read the sticky above.... "PLEASE READ BEFORE POST" it list a few places where molds can be purchased as well as some other usefull hints and tricks. Thanks, bassgreg
  2. I am looking for someone to to paint some custom crankbaits. I am trying to match a Bomber 6A that has been discontinued. I called Bomber and they said I need to buy a lot of 500!! I can sent pictures of the two colors (SM and SMG) that I am after. Bassgreg
  3. What do you use to cut your tube tails? Thanks Greg
  4. Well I tried the 3" slithers in our club contest on Lake Whatcom. Weather was a little foggy in the morning with sun breaks by the afternoon, Temp were 57-72, water temp was 65. I Drop shotted them in 18-25ft of water. I was working them around rocky humps . I also fish them around pilings in 20-35ft of water. Lost some nice fish on the pilings when they would wrap themselves around them . My medlight Avid rod was no match for them, but my motto is hook them first then deal with getting them to the boat!! Caught fish on all the colors except the junebug! Best fish was a 4.65lbs , with the total limit just under 14lbs. I did win $70 for big fish!! Thanks Big Z for the chance to test your baits!! I will be going over to Banks Lake on Nov 6th to fish the Frostbite Tourny, with below 30 temps and occasional snow !! But the fishing is great!! I will try what I have left then and give another report! Greg
  5. Yep! all is normal. I had a hard time with my burner and metal pans, if I was not stirring all the time the plastic would burn. I would suggest getting a heat diffuser it will help you from burning the plastic. It will also give you more working time. You can pick them up for under $5.
  6. I do the same thing with the burners, but I use a heat diffuser over the burner. It gives you more area to set your pyrex on plus it does not burn the plastic. I picked mine up for $3 at a cooking store in the outlet mall. Greg
  7. Where are the pics of the grub molds?
  8. Thanks BigZ Used this color combo this weekend an nailed a 4.01 and a 4.71 smallmouth on back-to-back cast. I did mixed this color combo in a reaper and the fish hit them like a freight train These were also the first fish on our new baits!! Thanks for the tip! Greg
  9. Senkosam, What is the latest on the glitter business? Are you up and running yet? I am looking to restock some colors and would like to use you as my supplier. Thanks, Greg
  10. So we have a new mold to pour sticks, what do you think of our first try? The question I have about the salt is.......When I mix my color and flake I get the color perfect, then when I add the salt I must double the color to get close. Is this normal? It also goes opaque, is there a way to add salt and keep your color more transparent?
  11. How long do you wait before pouring the next color? If you do it to soon they blend together. But if you wait to long they seperate when cooled down.
  12. What is the best way to get good even pour when doing colors like Aarons Magic or Ayu. I currently have just the pyrex and 5 1 cup measuring cups is this best done with a pouring pot? I also have 10cc glass syringes. Thanks, Greg
  13. Just started pouring and I am and doing ok except for two colors. The first one I am having trouble with the blue in Aarons Magic, is it Blue, pearl blue or Hi lite Blue? I only have blue and it is not right. The other color is Yamamotos #176, Cinnamon with black flake. My brown is too dark and transparent, could there be some white in it? I hope this question is ok, I am not looking for anyones secret color just a suggested solution. Thanks, Greg
  14. Thanks for the tips, I tried both the vasaline and super glue. I prefer the vasaline much better, the super glue did not let the resin set up around the edges and was a pain to clean up. With both methods I did have to do a little clean up on the edges with my Dremel. I did try one mold by pouring the resin into my pyrex pan, then gently placing my baits upside down into resin. This worked really good, it gave me a good sharp edge that I could scrape the overpours off with. You just have to make sure your bait doesn't sink to far in.
