  1. Found some 8" straight tail worms , handpours, in my tackle box. color - med. brown. Fished with these and found smallies really like them and not bad for lgmouth and spots in early spring and late fall. The interesting thing about this worm is the flat part turns a sand brown after several cast. I think it has been salted right after it was poured and still in the mold(my best guess). Anyway, I did not pour these and don't remember where I purchased these. Just curious, if anyone has heard of this technique. I've tried to duplicate(using LC flak salt), but don't achieve the same color effect - could be something other than salt or different kind of salt. Any ideas? :
  2. New at this, but have made 4 or 5 molds over the past month, using suggestions from this board. Sealing the plaster molds is a problem. I've used mod podge and then sprayed with engine enamel. Works, but got some separation from the plaster. Still not happy with the sealing method. It's probably very important to make sure the plaster is very hard and cured completely(think I'll use the defrost cycle on the Micro to speed curing). I think the separation problem may be from lack of patience. I'll be watching for any updates, as I molded a new 2 piece last night that I would like to turn out right.
  3. : Noticed a fellow fisherman had a very good looking minature(4") top water lure that looked like a downsized Smithwick Devil Horse or Dying Flutter. Typical pencil lure with propellers both ends. I'd like to learn to make this lure. : The paint job looked very professional. On the bottom of the lure it was autographed "Barkley". I've looked at several tackle stores in the Lake Barkley area(Tennessee/KY) with no results. Anyone have information about the maker, I'd appreciate it.
