  1. I sold a killer B on ebay about 15 years ago. It was new in a box and it went for $30. www.novalures.com
  2. In my humble opinion you all things in life follow the same rule. You have to learn to walk before you can expect to run. Unfortunately, we live in an "instant" world. No one seems to want to climb the "ladder"; they all seem to want to start at the top and if you start at the top; there is only one way to go. www.novalures.com
  3. I started doing this in 1989 because I couldn't get what i wanted locally to fish with. Very quickly I started designing my own baits and still do it to this day. I don't like to copy baits. I make my own molds; although I do have some aluminum stick molds. I love to come up with new colors; especially colors that change. I enjoy the "art form" of handpouring. www.novalures.com
  4. Takes a lot of coffee. Don't use instant; has to be real coffee. Then you have to strain it through coffee filters once it's done "cooking" in the sun. Takes longer than garlic. www.novalures.com
  5. Google collectable fishing lures. There are sites for collectors I'm sure. www.novalures.com
  6. I've always made it a point to not mess with alum. molds myself (too easy to mess up and too costly to ruin). I would take it to a machine shop and have them cut a slot to accept a piece of alum. to make the hookslot. Still could get messed up though. www.novalures.com
  7. What kind of mold? I've done it with POP. www.novalures.com

  9. mmnabulsi@xplornet.ca You can try this guy. He's in Ont. and he did sell the product you're looking for. His name is Mike. www.novalures.com

    Pop Molds

All I do is melt down some scrap plastic and pour it into the molds; leave it there while you are preparing the plastic formula that you are going to pour. That will pre-heat your molds for you. www.novalures.com

    Garlic Scents

You'll just get a gummy mess. Try a quart of canola oil; dump out about a cup or so of it. Then take lots of fresh garlic; crush it and put it in the bottle. Add some pickling salt as a preservative. Put the cover on and set the bottle in the sun for a week at least. After that strain the oil to remove the garlic and there you go. www.novalures.com

Popper worm is very easy to pour. Take a stick mold(not injection) pour the bait filling the spru to the top. Do not top off the spru and as the plastic cools and contracts it will form the popper mouth. And that's the name of that tune; lol. Oh yah; no salt. www.novalures.com
  13. I use the powders from Lurecraft Ben. I think that they are pretty much all the same though. It's a very fine powder so i don't think it will be any problem spraying it if you can mix it in the clear. www.novalures.com

    Floating

I can't take credit for that idea. That was done back in the early 90's. Can't remember the company though. They worked quite well. They were designed for the carolina rig. They would float even better if you close off the open end. www.novalures.com

How about a mold that you can set a length of coat hanger in. After you pour the worm just pull the hanger out. There's your floatation. Nothing softer than air; lol. Just leave enough solid worm at the head to allow for the hook. www.novalures.com
  17. Never thought that Ben. My mind can go 900 miles an hour when I'm thinking and I tend to spit out ideas quite quickly. After all that's what TU is for, right. I don't use an airbrush(even though I own 2) so it never entered my mind. I've been thinking about the highlight thing for a while even though I use holigraphic foil as a base. www.novalures.com
  18. It was just a thought Ben. I didn't consider the airbrush; I was focused on a brush. Another additive to epoxy could be highlight powder that we use in softbaits. Was also thinking of slow-set epoxy not the 5 minute one. Much more working time. www.novalures.com
  19. That's what I thought. Looks to me like LC"s sweet potato with a little amber. www.novalures.com
  20. Why not mix your paint with the 2 part epoxy and paint with that? Has anyone tried that before? www.novalures.com

    Help

Thanks guys. Just what I was looking for. Missed that in the cookbook. In too much of a hurry I guess. What I was doing was matching a color I had made using chart pumpkin as a base. Makes a killer stick. I'll post it in the sticky in a while. Got to fill that order first. www.novalures.com

    Help

It's not very often I look for help but this time I need some. I know I've seen a recipie for cartreuse pumpkin on TU somewhere. I've looked trough the cookbook and I've done a search but came up empty. I had the recipie at one time but somehow I misplaced it when my garage got re-built. I wonder if that post has been lost in all the changes over the years. If someone has it I would appreciate it if they would share. www.novalures.com
  24. You can also make colors change. Try 4 oz. plastic; 2 drops black; 1/16 to 1/8 tsp of blue highlight( depending on how much color you want) and black glitter. You'll be amazed at what you get. Use as a belly color with a black back. First time I've given this one away. www.novalures.com
  25. Try melting a thin layer of wax over the eye; then trim it to the edges with a razor knife. www.novalures.com
