I've head you can use RIT fabric dyes on wood. I'm not sure if they may fade out over the years much as fabrics do or not.
I would try something like this to allow wood grains to show through tho.
T-man one nice thing about this board is while we encourage supporting our sponsors we are not so arrogant that we cannot post a websight that will lead to helping our brethren.
so go ahead and list the site, many people may benefit from it and who knows they may even become a sponsor if enough of our fellow tacklemakers ask them to and use them as a supplier.
Most air compressors use 3/8" NPT on thier outlets. I'm guessing your AB hose may have 1/4" NPT or smaller. Take you AB hose to the local hardware store or plumbing supply shop and ask for help with getting the proper reducers. you would be well served to use some quick disconnects and and additional regulator that you can controll near your point of use. I also suggest you get a water and oil trap for your set-up as it will reduce many application issues.
What you are referring to is amine blush. this usually happens after 36-48 hours of cure. more or less dependant upon the epoxy used and it's curing conditions.
like I stated earlier you are better off working wet on wet to get a chemical bond. if you wait until full cure all you get is a mechanical bond. this is still strong but chemical bonds are better.
Anything is possible
however the plastics do not flow easily when melted so you would need a high preassure injection system. this would cost far more than any home builder could hope to recoup.
For multiple coats apply the subsequent coatings as soon as the first has set but not begun curing for devcon this is around 1 hour later. doing this allows the coating to cross-link and become 1 instead of multiple layers.
how long of a wait did you have between primer and painting?
it is very possible that the primer hadn't fully cured thus adding to your troubles.
Now about eating some cheese that thought scares the heck out of me!!! what kind of canibal are you?
I have used both the cups and the prop.
I switched completly to the prop when I had a cup coated bait crack on me. I do have others that haven't cracked with the cups but to me the prop is easier to use and has a proven background in the lure industry.
new presuure treated woods contain a newr less toxic preservative called AQC or ACQ. this stuff can cause steel to rapidly corrode. Your efforst are going to be too good to waste on this inadequate lumber for lure building. Return the board get some good wood and do it right.
Pete put "if found please deliver to Cheesehead" on a few logs and toss them in the sea. give them a gently nudge in my direction and I'll hope they arrive soon:lolhuh:
