  1. go to smooth ons website, they have videos showing you how to do it, smooth on also sells that same kind of plastic as the alumalite stuff
  2. ahhh yes del it does, thanks for the clarication, hey I was looking at your site the other night and saw alot of requests for larger slug molds. I actually posted on it there a few weeks back asking how close it was to a sluggo, think you can email me a price for one 7.5 inch??? I'd like it as close to a sluggo( of that size) as possible. weasle.one@verizon.net thanks del Stan
  3. just got a frog mold and looking for input on what you guys think the best floating plastic out there is, I"m using calhouns medium formula now, and it sinks. I know del has the SUPER FLOATING PLASTIC, but the use of it scares me, as per the directions of having to whip(stir) it like crazy............................... so what to do?????
  4. yeah its the large pot, cost, more in time cutting the pieces than anything, prolly less than 10 bucks for the bar stock, threaded rod, brass tube and nuts. its just a matter of making the control arm a little longer to allow for the gate to be opened more when its lifted. dunno about the small pots though
  5. hey JSC heres some pics I promised ya, the first and second ones basically just show the top/sideview and bottom sideview, and the 3rd pic shows more of a topview. in all three pics you see the brass tube that goes through a small hole drilled on the top and bottom side of the edges of the pot, NOT in the pot itself, in the tube is a threaded rod, that I can take out with just taking the nut off the bottom and the entire rod pulls out, in the third pic you see the threaded rod/brass tube assembly, then you see a small hex head screw to the right, that hex scrwe is the original mounting place of the handle, not its mounted solid and doesent have to be pulled apart to clean, as per the removal of the threaded rod as I sated earlier hope this all makes sense, let me know, it sure pours faster than the original opening that was there cause I was able to raise the rod higher in the hole
  6. I took flat alum bar stock and made a new handle and valve controler for my pot, I also drilled two matching holes( one on top and on on the bottom) for a threaded rod covered by a thin brass tube for the new handle and valve assemply to ride on, now it not only pours faster( since it opens the gate more) it also comes apart easier for cleaning purposes, I'll try and get some pics of it this weekend to show you exactly what I did
  7. I had bob make me the mold, I cant pour the tails as thin as I'd like, I'm just not that talented to and after pouring, I see I could have had bob make the head of it about 1/2 again as wide, oh well
  8. ok heres a new one for me, its about 1.5 inches long, and 3/8inch wide at the widest, pictures not the best but oh well
  9. great looking frogs, is that green hi-lite or pearl powder that you're using on the backs?
  10. its a COTEE head, though its not on the COTEE website but passpro has it http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=89306&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults
  11. chirmy, thats the exact stuff I used, I got it at michaels crafts, it was in the aisle with all the different glues and such................... the mold came out ok, nothing great, but I suppose my inexperience with this stuff will account for that, but seeing as I"m lazy, I probably wont be trying it again, its to easy to buy alum molds, ohhh baits were ok, nothing like what I like when using alum moldslotsa pits and such in them( very tiny, not a smooth surface)
  12. hell I had to buy that dish special for this tryout, since the big bait is 9inches long, I couldnt use the old 8" x8" one I had laying around
  13. its clear plastic casting resin, got it at michaels crafts, its hard, I sprayed the pan with some PAM as a realease agent, still had to pry it out a little, now to do a little clean up with a dremel and I'll see how it casts
  14. well so far I havent made much of a mess..........lets see how it turns out
  15. not a great pic, a little blurry, heres a 4in and 6in reaper from del
