  1. Sounds good Nil,could you make me up a couple??I'll drop by your place or you can drop them off at the shop...whatever works for you. Ken
  2. Hey Nil,nice looking bait:yay: I will buy a couple of them off you and test them out when our season opens April 1st.Can you make that bait in that color shown with a yellowish belly, say bananaseed?? Ken
  3. The picture doesn't do the bait any justice.I have a bag of that bait and color right here beside me and it's a Greenpumpkin top with a light orange belly. I shouldn't be saying this with Nova looking, but that particular color and bait was a smallie slayer up here in Nova Scotia;) Sammy
  4. You didn't ruffle my feathers at all and I only asked to find out what was up so I can see if any of the customers are having the same problem. Thanks for the info on the legs. Sammy
  5. You say in your last paragraph that the Zoom Horny Toad is flawed.Could you tell me what that flaw may be.I ask as I have sold approximately 500 bags of these things out of my wife's tackle shop over the past 3 seasons and have not heard 1 complaint or gripe about these things.Lots of repeat customers buying them and Bass tournaments and Chain Pickeral tournaments have been won on these things up here in Nova Scotia. The only flaw I see is with the company for discontinuing the yellow colored Horny Toad. Thanks, Sammy
  6. When we first opened our shop up here in Nova Scotia we used UPS to have baits shipped to us from the states. Not anymore as we were totally taken back at the amount of duty they would charge coming across the border. Now we ask our suppliers to ship using USPS...what a difference in shipping costs. When it comes across the border using USPS we pay a flat rate of $5.00 for duty and % 7 GST on the $ value. Now we know what to expect and so far the USPS service has been great. Sammy
  7. Howdy folks, my question has nothing to do with sponsorship, but samples for a tackle shop.Do you guys that pour get many requests from tackle shops looking for samples of your baits? Sammy

    Erm ...

That was very well said Skeeter and I couldn't agree with you more. I read in the original thread where one of the members said he wouldn't buy from a site that uses that language, but he uses that language quite a bit around the boys...go figure.Another brought up Reaction's choice of bait names, and how he didn't want to buy a bait with sexual overtones(or something to that effect)...his CHOICE.My wife has a tackle shop up here in Yarmouth,Nova Scotia and one of her customers is a minister of a local church and some of his flock are also her customers...they have no problem buying Reactions baits...again their CHOICE.They want the baits, not what's on the package. Tarakito, very nice site!!!! It didn't offend me using your original slogan. How's the weather in Germany?? Sammy
  9. Hi CrawChuck,up here in Nova Scotia the most popular way to rig the senko is whacky rigged.Alot of our customers are now purchasing a new fangled tool(been out for 2 years) that helps save on throwing away a $1.00 bait every 5th cast. It's called a "Whacky Tool".Pop a senko into the open end and then guide an "O"ring up over the tool and onto the senko. Then take the hook and rig it in between the ring and senko, hook never enters the body of the bait.It does save the customer in the long run and since selling that tool we really haven't seen a decline in senko sales as one might think...win win:-) In our shop we carry 2 brands of knockoffs, one being Tiki stixs, the other is the Yum Dinger and Yamamoto out sells them by a 4:1 margain.Folks up this way don't want knockoffs or copies, they want the original and that's what they buy.Something like them folks in Socal that was mentioned. As Nil says in his usual eloquent way if you don't want to pay the price, don't buy it. Sammy
  10. Hey CrawChuck, It has something to do with the prices of petroleum based products going up. My wife owns a tackle shop up here in Yarmouth,Nova Scotia Canada and her suppliers informed her of the price increases last October/November(2005).Now the suppliers claimed because of the devastation of Katrina and what it did to the petroleum industry is the reason for the hikes in raw materials to make these products.Makes some sense I guess, lol, lol. As far as Yamamoto goes, well I'm a tournament angler and I wouldn't throw anything but these baits during the mid summer period.I can't catch a cold on them in the spring, but starting in July they really shine for me anyway They may be more pricey, but my confidence level is high when I have them tied on For a senko type bait, you can't beat the original.Yes knockoffs/copies do catch fish at times, but in my opinion not as consistantly as the originals. Ken
  11. As of the 1st of December 2005,Yamamoto's price went up by 10%.Most other soft plastic companies increased their prices on Jan 1st,2006, anywhere from 8% to 14%. Sammy
  12. Hmmmmmm,I wonder if that is why Yamamoto has gone to crappy packaging...to recupe some of that settlement maybe : Sammy
  13. Howdy, Shimano does produce soft plastic lures and also hardbaits. They are in their Japanese catalog. Not something I'd buy,but they do make them. Sammy
