  1. What is the fee that you have to pay pal to use their cart like that. I assume there is a fee per purchase but is there a monthly fee for just having a paypal cart period?
  2. I am just getting familiar with the dreamweaver program and have been messing around with making a website with the things I pour like many of you have. What did most of you do to get your site up and going? Did you build the site yourself? Someone help you or hire someone to do it for you? What did you guys use for a shopping cart? Just the paypal one? I was just interested to see if everyone here selling their own lures also knows how to web design or if it's a skill in the minority
  3. First of all, thank you "redg8r", Jerry for the quick response about posting on this matter: Hello Everyone, Let me start by saying I have been viewing and posting occasionally on the board for a few years now and there is no other place like it here. Everyones generosity when it comes to sharing knowledge, tips and ideas is impeccable. Thats why I felt this would be an amazing place to ask for help. Our bass club, the Northern New York Bassmasters is hosting a casting kids competition at the Ogdensburg, NY Boys & Girls Club Expo this year on March 23-25, 2007. We anticipate this could be the largest BASS casting kids competition on record, at least this is what we are shooting for. The Expo here in our city averages about 20,000 visitors each year so the numbers should be there for us to reach this goal. We are going to be handing out bags of fishing supplies to these young anglers who participate, and while we estimate contestant counts could reach a thousand kids, you can imagine we will not be able to supply enough fishing related gear on our own. We have already received generous donations from local businesses such as the city Police, PBA, fire department to purchase tackle, rods/reels as well as tackle from the Bass Pro Shops (Auburn) and other fishing items from the local bait shops on Black Lake, NY. We are currently sending blanket letters out to as many major manufacturers as possible in search of any donations as possible. We feel giving the supplies to these young anglers will be a great experience for them and their parents. Many of the young kids in our area are not extremely fortunate you might say. We live in a rural area that consists of many lower income families therefore, many of these kids don't have the opportunity to receive quality fishing supplies. So I was wondering if anyone would be willing to donate any extra fishing supplies (soft plastic baits you poured, hard baits whatever) that you make to our club to hand out to these kids. Our club is donating some of our members extra tackle and we hope between this and whatever we can collect we can literally load these kids up with supplies and give them an excellent experience. Last year we ran one and brought about 10 of our club bass boats in and had the kids come right into them explaining how bass fishing goes and the importance of catch n release. As we all know these little guys are going to be the ones continuing to keep our waters safe and productive. If you are interested you can send any supplies to us at: NNYBM CLUB 300 Main Street Ogdensburg, NY 13669 If you have any questions or need to contact me you can send me a PM or email me at paradisbrad@hotmail.com Make sure to accompany any donations with a name and web address if you have one, I would be happy to post your businesses information as a sponsor for this event on our club site. Thanks in advance Brad Paradis Club Secretary http://northernnybassmastersclub.freehomepage.com/

  5. I was in my garage which was heated. It was in the mid sixties. I do live in Northern New York, so it does get quite chilly. I will make sure I have the heat on out there and watch what I put it on next time too.
  6. Just wanted to share my experience yesterday to remind any newbies of safety, which I guess I could kind of consider myself, to the pouring process. Yesterday I was making some jig n pig plastic chunk trailers and I had some left over plastic in the Pyrex glass after pouring. I put it back into the microwave and reheated it to pour the rest as it had hardened up too much, just like I had a thousand times before. While it was in there this time though, I heard a weird noise coming from the contents inside the glass. I quickly turned it off, it was crackling (the few flecks of glitter left inside) and smoking. I took it out and set it top of the microwave so that my hood would suck most of the smoke out. I waited for a few mins. so it would cool before I grabbed it. Then, I grabbed the glass and moved it about a half a foot to set it down on the table and it was just about to level to my chest and the Pyrex glass EXPLODED!!!! A huge pop and pieces of glass flew everywhere. One hit me in the side of my face, the other directly into my safety goggles I wear. I am lucky the very little plastic I had in there, hadn't turned to liquid yet. Just a reminder to wear things to protect your face and hands anytime possible. May just save your vision, for example some day. -Brad
  7. Thanks I will look into those. I appreciate the feedback.
  8. After moving my pouring practice to my garage I have yet to get back into it. The reason why is the lack of an air vent of some sort. Is there a place where any of you guys have purchased a vent system of some sort to remove the fumes while working? I have been watching in my area paper, but I live a rural area and there isnt much around. I didn't know if there was any place online that anyone had purchased something from that isnt too expensive since I am just pouring for fun and my own personal use.
  9. I just read the article today. They also just received an email from me
  10. Thanks guys. I never really knew that.
  11. I heard two people talking about a backlash one of them had on their baitcaster and something one of them said caught my attention. He said, "maybe you didn't spool your pole correctly, there is a certain way for the line to come off the spool." Is that true? I never really thought about it. Does it make a difference which way the line is coming off the spool, the top or the bottom? Does it matter which way you thread your line on the baitcaster, whether you go under the spool and tie or over the spool and tie? Thanks.
  12. Just for anyone who cared. I solved the problem. After taking apart the helm pump in the stearing to replace seals in case of a cracked one, I realized that someone had put the thing on the wrong way and I wasnt getting the correct revolutions it was suppose to in order to turn the wheel from left to right, therefore messing my stearing up and causing me to lose control of it. I assume previous owner must of replaced the seals and put the piece on wrong when he put it back together. She runs beautiful now!
  13. I know the key for me when adding a ton of salt is to make sure the plastic is ALWAYS HOT. Even if it means stiring and reheating before the next stick. The minute it starts to cool and get thick its impossible to pour them.
  14. ok well...here is the update I am still starting to sway at around 65ish MPH to the point where i have to back off completely and take off again. (I have established I am not so called Chinewalking, its definetly a sway) I thought I had found the source of the problem. Which I still believe is the source, but my method of fixing it didn't work. I noticed that when I grab my engine out of the water and rock it side to side there is a 1/4 inch movement in the engine on my seastar hydraulic bar, both ways. I don't know anything about hydraulics but I am assuming that it should be tight. Does anyone know if there should be any play in that? That would explain why i am a swaying to the point of losing conrol if the engine is actually moving side to side slightly. I also assume that the reason why I dont have the problem until I get to high speed and trim up is because when there is a lot of the boat in the water the small give isnt affecting the boat enough, but as the boat gets less and less of it in the water the small give in the engine is really affecting the control of the boat, hence making it start to sway side to side. So, I emailed the teleflex company who makes the seastar hydraulic bar and they tell me that I have air in my line for sure. So I bought a seal kit and took apart the seastar bar and the helm and re-sealed it all...emptied it and refilled with brand new hyrdaulic fluid. Fingers crossed!!!! Took it out tonight, there is still a play in the engine. Any ideas? Maybe the pump for the fluid inside the helm needs to be replaced? Getting frustraited as the season approaches
  15. I understand the question was quite general. I was just attempting to get someone else's opinion on things, and I appreciate your input. I have always used mono on everything. I don't know why I just always have but I was wondering if I was missing out on the other lines and their benefits. I know I used spiderwire once and I had trouble with it back lashing almost immediately and I ran back to my mono Thanks for the info. I guess I should just experiment and stick with whatever I am most confident with. Fleury!
  16. I plan on experimenting with some different lines this spring. I have just always used mono. I have purchased some fluorcarbone and plan on giving it a shot What do you guys use for line with certain baits in general? I believe I understand that mono has the stretch factor while the flurocarbon doesn't, but where does that leave you with lure selection for each kind of line. Do you want the mono with the stretch on spinnerbaits, but the fluoro with no stretch with jig n pig etc? What is the idea behind which baits to use what for?
  17. I have been pouring and stocking up on a cranberry color that worked well for me at the end of last year on the mountain lakes around my area. Cranberry 4 oz. plastic 15 drops Barlows Grape 10 drops Barlows Red 20 ml of salt Med Blue/Green Flake
  18. Just out of curiosity could someone tell if on the beaver, the main paddle part in the middle, is that suppose to be cut so that is spreads open. Or is it just suppose to be left like it comes? I think I remember someone talking about this but I can't remember what they said.
  19. sducoach, I did PM you, it was acting screwy. I dont know if it went through of not. Let me know.
  20. Thanks everyone. I really appreciate the time everyone put in to helping me out with this and the timely responses. I am new to Rangers and how they handle. I was just basically mostly concerned something wasn't wrong. Thanks again.
  21. (I posted this the other day and with the upgrade on the board it was bumped off, so I apologize if I missed anyones responses) I just recently bought a 1999 Ranger Bass Boat 518 VX Comanche - Mercury 200 OptiMax. The boat I had previously was Stratos fishnski, with a bass boat hull. This past weekend I took it out for the 1st time and she ran beautifully. I did happen to come across one problem that I was hoping someone around here could help enlighten me about. As I got around 70 mph and trimmed the engine up a little bit the boat begin to sway a tight but profound side to side wobble. What would cause this? I let off the gas and trimmed down and it stopped immediately. So I then brought it back up to speed to try again and again it began to sway left to right. Right at 70. Any ideas?
  22. For sure a good job. Nice work
