  1. I have not uses marson products, but any fish eye eliminator i have used sure did not add gloss mine where less glossy when i have this problem i try to find out where i got wax , or oil from. that gave me fisheyes. I like to do anything but use a fisheye eliminator KEN

  5. man is that a great idea never gave that a thought you can eliminate one tool with that set up. could not get the idea of the belt oscaliting. but i see how the put on the spindles on sander i have a spindle sander from roybi and its going bad that tool would be the one to buy thank you ken kindle
  6. kb here i woukd like to see a pic of a oscillating belt sander i have never seen one. i dont have a clue how that would work
  7. you are not kidding about the second handle it is made from ebony wood i believe if you caught a aligator you could club him to death that ebony is tough and HEAVY

  9. have not been doing much had some bad health issues but ia'm as good as a 73 year old can be .honest have missed talking to you guys i have made a few wood rod handles when i was feeling better going to make some more this winter i will be talking to you guys more often sorry but you did not get rid of me kb:yay:
  10. kb i would like the 1/8oz head. i can paint and make my skirts but will do it any way you would like to. not that big of a hurry take your time when ever you get them done let me know and ill git you the money. and i do thank you ken

  13. i do both on old rods or i do blanks i dont put any taper on the handles about every inch on rod blank i put some masking tape on rod and fill the spaces in between with rod bond resin kb just put enough tape to make it tight to sides of wood handle. i know that's not a very good way to explain but its the best i know kb
  14. kbkere here is all the wood rod handles i have made so far have been fishing a lot 2or 3 days a week thats a lot for a fat old man have been useing the rod with the feather in it works great its popular wood lighter in weight than cork and dont slip when wet the one thing i hate about it i have not caught a fish with that rod kb

  16. kb here with two more rods and wood handles made of oak-walnut made of cedar-popular drilling holes if you have a drill press no problem what ever size the rod is i drill in on forgrip---reelseat and lower handle if not for your mini lathe you can buy a chuck that will fit in the motor end or where the burl end then make a v stand of metal that you can put in the hole that holds your lathe tools and then with the spur end push the wood rod handle into bit i use a spade bit rod blanks are usually 1/2 ' OR 3/8" kb hope that this is clear as mud. if i did not explain it well let me know and ill see if i can draw better that explain kb
  17. ken kindle here have been trying to make wood crankbait for a couple of winters now but the last 2 months i got a brain fart and thought i would try to make rods and make the wood rod handles for them here is what i have done so far first one hard maple #2red maple amd walnut #3 walnut #4 cedar and pine laminated. got three more handles made will show them if you want when i get the rod's made kb

  19. kbhere if you want to use some aspen that is wet cut some small pieces and put in microwave and you can kiln dry it this way kb google it and it will tell you how long to keep in oven and the temp

  21. kb here do you guys us single foot guides on baitcasting rod's i never did but the last couple i reguided i tryed i like it. ia'm still trying to make wood crankbaits. make a few now i got started on making wood handles on the lathe started to laminate some wood together to see what they look like i glued up today some handles with the first layer 1/4' walnut, second oak,third red cedar got some pine,redwood,hard maple , oak, ash,sasafras., mesquite,ebony and a few more going to glue up something just to see what they look like.got so dam many thing to do at the age of 72 makes me tierd just thinking about them also going to try and lay some inlays in them. why did'n i start this before when i first retiered kb

  23. hey you guys my name is sue how do you do? not really ken kindle from n.central indiana 72 years old just started making crank's about a year and 1/2 ago retiered from my own business [kindle auto body shop] 10 years ago done woodworking and bass fishing in spare time know it is full time. i know if i try to praise everyone that helped me i would forget some one.every one on this great site is a help . would like to add but before i can someone else beats me to it anybody that want to know anything about lure making need not to go any where but tu kb
  24. kb here just bought 4 of those extra hand holders at menards in there own brand "tool shop" tools they are $3.99 each there in a yellow box kb the ones at menards does not have the glasskb
