I use balsa and basswood for the most part

I have made many lures and have painted them with an airbrush. They come out looking good but not great. I have been using thinned out vinyl jig paint in my airbrush but it clogs up a lot and makes a big mess. Also what brand of product should I be sealing the lure up with. I just want the process to go smoother than it is and have had a hard time getting help. Thanks
