  1. How do I get reflective color in the plastics? Do they make metalic colors? I like the quality of the basstrix plastics and am going for the same type of effect for shad, sand eel, and herring baits I'm making.
  2. ok, I fixed this I think. for those who tried to download it I don't think it worked before cause it was a pdf and the format was screwy. If you download this jpeg to your hd or desktop you can see it. I just realized you can edit posts and such. see ya...... oh yeah. This design is for those who pour for personal use only. NO COMMERCIAL USE OF THIS DESIGN. Thanks and I'm sure that goes without saying.
  3. Here is an attached jpeg. This is all theory at this point. Not sure if it will work but it made sense after I thought about a soft plastic topwater. Take a look and let me know if its something do-able. If its not really what your looking for........no harm, no foul. Take it easy
  4. I have an Idea for a feeding baitfish you can try. If your interested I can show you some drawings. The seasons pretty much at an end for me up here so I haven't had time to try it but you can try a pour if you want. Let me know if your interested and I'll post a jpeg of the side, top, and bottom views.
  5. I'm sorry if this topic has been exhausted, but I tried a knowledge base search and couldn't come up with the info I wanted. So here goes... What is the best material for casting swimbait molds? Is it a two part mold or some of the other types that people use for worms and stickbaits? I'll be using clay and other plastic swimbaits for prototypes. I'm gonna start out trying to imitate herring (or alewives as we call'em) cause I think it will be easier that bluegill or perch or trout right now and cause I can use them early next season for largemouth and stripers. So any or all the info you got can help me
  6. Thanks for the replies everyone. Good to see another fellow from the commonwealth checkin in. Any of you guys make hardbaits also? I'll see you on the post. Later..........
  7. Whats up dudes. I just found out about this forum today and had to join. I've been interested in making custom plastics for some time and didn't know anyone to help me get my feet wet. I'm from Massachusetts (yeah, its still a state in the Union) and loves me some fishin'. I'm going after some record largemouth, smallies, and stripers. I'm into trying my hand at making realistic swimbaits to immitate herring, white perch, bluegills, other forage fish and other plastics. I'm looking forward to learning what I can from you guys and talking with you all. This forum is killer and can't wait to post again. If you got any tips for a beginner as far as articles, books, and safety measures I wouldn't know about give me a heads up. later......
