  1. I bend wire as thick as .072 with round nose pliers and a pair of vise grips. You can find the round nose pliers at Sears or check ebay. With a little practice you can get pretty good results.
  2. I purchased some wings from the guy that makes Dancyzk lures. These are a nice wing but are a little on the large size. I have been thinking of investing in a die to punch wings out. Think there would be any interest?
  3. I use .072 wire and bend it with round nose pliers and vise grips.
  4. Hi Monty, I like to use cedar but have also used white pine. I am in the process of picking up some basswood to try also. Ken
  5. Hi, You should be able to loop the two wires together with no problem. Take a look at an Eagle Tail bucktail. The two wires are just looped together. The wires are also thicker than what you are using. Good luck and catch the big one!
  6. Monty, Contact Chad at danzklrz@mtc.net or check out his website at www.danczyk-lures.com Chad has some large creeper wings and brackets for sale. I just ordered some wings to try on some lures I am making. Ken
  7. Duh!!! I never thought about welding. I suppose I could tack it with my MIG welder. All I will need is a spool of stainless wire. Thanks everyone. I have seen the loops soldered but never thought of tacking it. Thanks, Ken
  8. The reason I was looking to solder the wire is because the wire is fairly thick at .073. It can be a bear to twist. My Hagen's wire bender won't work on this thick of a wire and I would rather not try modify it. I can get a bend with round nose pliers but I can't get the twist to look good thus the solder question.
  9. Hi, Does anyone solder the loops closed on the end of thru wire baits. What I and wondering is what kind of solder do you use to close the loop instead of twisting the wire to close the loop
  10. Thanks all for your help. I will give Stamina a call and see what they have. I was at Dick Moore's house last Saturday. Nice guy! Talk about lure making parts, WOW!!. Dick has a basement full of stuff and took time out off his day to show my son and I around his place and had everything we were looking for. Wish I would have remembered those props. Again thanks.
  11. No to the globe props. I have several of those. What I am looking for are some three inch pointed propellers. If you have ever seen a musky lure called the BS Willey's topper type lure. That is what I am looking for. I have several of the two inch pointed props but want to make something bigger to catch the toothy critters with.
  12. Does anyone know of a source to purchase 3" propellers like the ones on a topper type lure? I would like to make some large topper type lures for musky fishing. Thanks
