  1. You might want to check out Parma Paints Faskolor - Faschange Blue. Has a nice effect and is available at a lot of hobby shops.
  2. Thanks for the info. Another tackle making project on the way!
  3. Anybody know where I could find Gold anodized buzz bait blades. I can find the plated ones but I am looking for the anodized ones such as those found on Cavitron baits. Thanks!
  4. Sharpie or water slide decals coated with Krylon Acrylic work for me. Rookie: They are not little people, they are "vertically challenged" .
  5. Terry, I also use http://www.specializedbalsa.com/ . Good service and I have never been disappointed with their product.
  6. Thanks for the replies guys!
  7. Curious what brand of short shank trebles you guys prefer. Thanks. Chris
  8. Nice thread. Interesting to see everyone's background. My name is Chris and I live in No. Virginia working as an airline pilot. Started making my own tackle back in the late 80's by making hand pour worms when I lived out west. This evolved into jigs, spinnerbaits and finally repainting and making baits. After a job layoff in 06', I started a website and started selling a few lures and repaints. I must say that the knowledge base here is beyond compare and I owe much to all who contribute. Thanks to all, Chris Poole
  9. Anybody know what is the weight of the lead that is on the lips of the old Bagley's? Thanks, Chris
  10. I do the same. Light sand, wipe with alcohol and recoat. The next coat will cover any sanding marks.
  11. The titanium wire that terminator uses is not pure titanium, but a titanium/nickel alloy. It reguires a special annealing (sp) process to bend it correctly. Additionally they have a patent on the wire. You can buy pre made forms direct from them, but usually have to buy a large number. Occasionally, they will get one that is not bent properly causing the blade to come off. They fixed this a couple ot years ago, but if you still have the old baits, you can send them back and get them replaced.
  12. Terminator's "Oklahoma" blades are modified versions of what most people call turtle blades and what most lure component companies sell as Mag Willow blades. They have extra creases on them just like their willow blades. They have these blades custom built and I have never heard of them being sold outside of Terminator. You can buy them direct from terminator and some tackle shops carry them.
  13. Hope their quality doesn't go downhill!
  14. Barlow's #744 is a pearl pepper with a definite purple tint to it.
  15. I think another part of the roll equation maybe the fact that a lure acts somewhat as an airfoil. The airfoil is "unbalanced" by the lip as you begin the retrieve, creating lift on side of the bait. When the lure begins it's motion to the right say, you need enough "lift" in the body of the lure to counteract this right motion and send it the other way. If the body does not have enough surface area, or the lip creates to much pressure, the lure will simply continue to spiral.
