  1. Hi, I have been looking everywhere I can to find a "swivel sinker" mold in 4,6,8 oz size What I refer to as a swivel sinker is a large slip or egg sinker with brass loops in each end with a swivel attached to the loops. We use them grouper fishing here in Florida, and they are a little pricey. I would like to make my own, but cannot find a mold. I am thinking its proprietary? Anyone that could point me in the right direction? Thanks
  2. I am a saltwater fisherman so I use swimbaits, or shad tails, all the time. The way we rig them is either with a colored jig head, on a spinerbait, an inline spinner, a weighted arky type jig head, or texas style. And as far as jig heads go, well theres dozens out there now lie round, football, hot-lips, standing, shad head, and a lot more. do-it website has the most i've been able to find. and for molds, i dont know how you feel about making one, but a 1 part resin mold is very easy and since most swimbaits have a flat side, it makes it ideal.
  3. I coldn't find in the past posts about using bolts to secure a 2 part mold while curing. I haven't tried it yet, but I was thinking of putting 2 bolts in opposite cornes of the first half of the mold with the head burried into the material. Then when it dries, add the second part with enough of the thread protruding above the 2nd part. then when it is cured and ready to use, use a piece of thick rubber or metal across the two bolts and secure it all with wing nuts. This way it would keep it tight and secure. Maybe a little cheaper tha using clamps, maybe it wouldn't work at all. Jus brainstorming here lol. Your thoughts?
  4. I get an e-mail claiming to be from PayPal ("from" address is service@paypal.com) about 3 times a week. It's is telling me that there was an unknown IP accessing my account and that I need to verify my information. Now the e-mail is very cheap as it isn't typed e-mail, but a hyper-linked picture made to look like an e-mail. Now anyone who knows anything about the net knows that when you drag the mouse cursor over a link it turns into a hand. Well the entire email is like this with the link showing up as a "xxxxx".aol.de address. It is a very very cheap and amateur scam email. I reported it to PayPal and have not heard any response on it yet. So Beware.
  5. what kind of baf constitutes "worm proof"?
  6. thanks for the info. the reason i am asking is because i am going to korea in may and living in a dorm and leaving my house in tucson where i do all my melting. i was going to buy a cheap microwave to put in my dorm to spend the year making tons of plastics so i will have them when i return home. might as well, wont have much else to do but i was also hoping i could use the microwave to reheat food or make popcorn in etc. if it is too nasty after making plastic, then aww well i'm not going to worry about it. only problem i see me having is ventilation. any input?
  7. I was wanting to try this method instead of on a stove and wanted to know if this method creates a lot of smoke, if it ruins the microwave, and if plastic or glass containers are better. thanks
  8. The arkie is the closest. only thing is that arkies are a little wide, and this style is fairly narow. as far as the bondo way, would the bondo fiberglass resin work or would the lead melt it? here's another one, looks like these are all custom made. the first almost looks like a really small swim jig. http://store1.yimg.com/I/yhst-48240192686586_1864_3077135
  9. can anyone tell me what kind of mold can make this type of weighted hook? i can't seem to find one and i would like to purchase one to use on my plastics. thanks http://store1.yimg.com/I/yhst-48240192686586_1864_4209327
  10. http://store1.yimg.com/I/yhst-48240192686586_1864_4984662 I want to make something similiar to this. I can't for the life of me find a mold to make this kind of hook. Also, how would I go about making the wire? I'd like to make it a bit longer though and use different hardware, but i like the style. Thanks.
