  1. I dont use chunk style trailers often but saw a tip by Randal Tharp that I think could help with the plastic ripping. Take a toothpick and run it laterally just in front of where you plan to put the hook through. On a short bite the bait pulls on the toothpick instead of ripping through the front of the bait. Just clip off the ends so they dont stick out.

Would any of you mind providing the color you use for the sides of "cell mate", a Spro color? Thank you
  3. Do you have a pick of the baits from the 3.8 fat swing? Thank you
  4. I have laminated baits since before the twinjectors came out with a blending block. Unfortunately I can no longer find the blocks with the injection holes fairly close to each other. The point being, I could pulse the inectors and get decent swirls. Which brings me to an idea. Is it possible to have a 5/8 nipple that could drop in the injection port that has luvers (sp) that force the plastic from a blending block to run into each other, causing swirl affect? Maybe somebody has tried this? I am very mechanically challenged, but there are plenty of handy people here.
  5. I could be wrong, but I believe the majority dip their baits. There are a lot of good options out there. I have use Do it seal coat and am very happy with it. Nice thin hard coat with no real odor. It isn't as high gloss as some, but is a nice coating.
  6. Does anyone know of a supplier for smooth 1.5 blanks that don't have scaling on them? Thank you
  7. That gp in a solid gp bait was barely see through, on a laminate it was a tad more trans.
  8. This the blue craw I used to make. Gp was an opaque gp. Trans won't work as the whole thing will look green. For the blue I used 8 drops bears royal blue, 3 match heads of blue pearl and 3 match heads of blue hilight. Add just a pinch of .035 black flake. 1 cup. These were shot as laminates, but works great when pulsed for a swirled look.
  9. So as not to hijack the thread, that Michaels purple glitter that SS has mentioned in the past is great with heat...and cheap with their weekly 50% off coupon.
  10. Roger, Do they cut good for you with no salt in them? I was always under the impression that the salt helps the tails split better when cutting. I used to dip tube and cut tails, but used salt. Thinking about either shooting or dipping tubes again, and if I can avoid salt, I will. It was my experience that the tails didn't cut well regardless of how I did it. Would almost be worth it to dip my tubes and pay someone with a hydraulic cutter to finish them.
  11. For those that don't salt tubes, are you cutting tails or shooting molds with splines?
  12. For the fellas that have the Angling IA tube molds, do you feel that the tails are about the same thickness as a traditional dipped tube? Does anybody have a pick of a final product next to a store bought tube for comparison? Thank you
  13. In general it is a dark green pumpkin red flake over watermelon red flake. The green pumpkin red flake on top can be very dark, in some cases almost a black/brown red flake. Depends on the maker.
  14. If you are referring to Texas Red Craw, GP over Red, here is my recipe: GP 4 Cups plastic 1 1/2 tablespoons of Spike it GP 156SP 7 pinches medium black flake (actual finger pinches) Red 4 Cups plastic 1 tablespoon of Spike it Blood Red 4 Drops of Spike it White 4 pinches medium black flake (actual finger pinches) Tim
