Using Balsa stock, any suggestions on where to begin or how to go about recreating a crank bait already in production. Besides needing the obvious, like a scroll saw, is there any specialty tools or items. If there is, are they any subsitute for them? :

I have thought about that, but don't know where to begin. Making a crank bait will be a first for me.

Been trying to find the blanks or a close match to Rapala's DT series and Bandit's Fat Maxx. Any suggestions on where to look. Not too concerned if they are wood or plastic. If I can find the blanks they will be my fist attempt at making a crank bait.

I have tried for sometime now to come up with a respectable Tennessee Shad Color in a fluke, as well as Arkansa Shiner. Does anyone have any suggestions on the formula I should try to use?

I have tried with great success in using fabric dye, in particular Rit. It comes in a powder form, and doesn't require a lot to use. I'v also heard of using powder form eye shadow, I have never tried it myself. Bad enough I have to pick up the female hygene stuff, don't want to had that to the list if I can avoid it. :oops:
