  1. it all depends. if its a major store, like a chain of some sort, they usually want to get 100-140% markup. so in that case 1.75 or so. but if its local mom and pop, you can sometimes get away with a 35-55% markup. so sell to them for 2.75 ./ less or more depending.
  2. First of all. Let me just say, from friends of mine that own major businesses, who are on the shelves at walmarts (not fishing stuff). Its not as simple as you think. Generally speaking you have to take your product to walmart corporate, pitch it, they have to like it, etc before it even gets off the ground. Then, most companies actually have to lease the rack space from walmart. If you are making baits by hand, being in a walmart will be a losing proposition, money wise. You may spend 80 cents on a jig by the time its done. Walmart may only sell it for 3 bucks, offer you HALF of that (they like markup), so you are at 1.50. Possible shelf lease space cuts in that even more. So you are looking at a break even or worse possibility. Not to mention what your time is worth. I wish you the best of luck, but walmart is the devil.
  3. So was the 2nd letter identical to the first? Honestly, they can come after me for triple the profits ive made. Ive sold like 30 total. If they want to take me to court for 150 bucks or something, bring it on. Ill represent myself and they will hire lawyers. Its just so stupid.
  4. cadman, thanks for the reference. He is right. I have only 14 colors at the moment. But as I sell more, ill be getting more colors etc in. And they are the cheapest starflash skirts on the net http://www.starflashskirts.com
  5. im not either. im just sharing what information I have, and others on the board as well. the ENTIRE patent is included in the letter I and others have received. Ive read it cover to cover. And they dont technically have the patent yet. it was turned down once, and is now being looked at again, its still in the patent pending stage.
  6. have you received the letter? they arent trying to patent the blade. they are trying to patent skirt placement and everything at the back end of the body. apparently they arent being successful with these letters, plenty of people here are still making them, and there are 4 + brands at EVERY major store that are knockoffs.
  7. no one is disputing the chatter name is or can be patented. they are sending letters to anyone selling a knockoff period. no one on here that i know of uses chatter in their names. i got a letter and i call them water rockers. they are trying to patent something thats been around before they made it famous. its a ridiculous claim
  8. i dont think anyone on this site is calling theirs a chatterbait. im certainly not. i call mine a water rocker.. its a real letter, i just think its scare tactic. im still weighing my options
  9. I just the letter 2 days ago. I dont sell very many at all, so Im not sure what ill do yet. I do believe its all scare, and id like to continue to sell them. Im kind of torn between the few i do sell, and me not really losing anything if i do take em down
  10. I have a plain clear skirt, which glows. you can see a super high rez picture before placing your order. cheapest anywhere on the web too http://www.starflashskirts.com
  11. ive had to wait up to 12 business days for stamina and barlows both. they are both incredibly slow on most things ive ordered.

    Web Sites

www.starflashskirts.com is the domain i recently bought and forwarded to my starflash skirts site. I know its not the names above, but im cheaper than the rest, so I feel its a worthy addition to the list.
  13. i dont know about you guys, but i purposefully put on biggier or smaller blades in certain situations. sometimes ill put a number 5 colorado on an 1/8 oz spinner. you can tweak it to run right, but sometimes it makes a difference
  14. ive been buying big 16 oz or 8 oz sinkers from scheels or sportsmans for like 50 cents each or a dollar each etc. It seems the lead is sort of hard though. How much wax would i put in say 1lb of lead to flux it?
