What type of machine was used to cut out the body on this bait in the video? Can it be used for various types of bodies?
  2. The reason I'm asking is: On another forum I also belong to, some guys are discussing taking older rods and altering the grip into split-grips. After removing the cork on the handles, they're sanding the epoxy off. I thought there has to be a better way. Thanks for your help!
  3. Is there a solvent that can be used to remove epoxy from a rod blank?

    Lexan

I got mine for just about nothing. Contact a car windshield replacement place, they can refer you to a place that handles Lexan.

    Lexan Source

I found mine this way..bare with me. My windshield broke and after contacting the insurance co. a wind shield replacement co. called to make an appointment. I asked them about lexan and they gave the name and no. of a local place that uses laxan to make various display boxes for stuff. They hooked me up a piece that is about a foot wide and four ft long for $3.00. I thought was a great deal. I bought two different thickinesses.
  7. Here's mine. It's a rotisserie hlods up to 8 baits per block, additional blocks can be added.
  8. Sure wish I knew about this while I was in College:lol: !
  9. Try a nurse uniform shop..bandage scissros.
  10. Don't remember the thickness? The thinner one.
  11. Hey guys, as I'm watching my wife clean house I decided to recut alip because I wasn't happy with it. I thought I would try cutting it with a pair of those heavy duty scissors that are suppose to cut a penny (like in this picture) and they worked awesome. They gave a REALLY clean cut with great control and required minimal sanding. Try it!
  12. great detail in the carving. I agree with Emmett, make a other one.
  13. I understand the volume of pictures that get posted vs. how much room is available, but it would be REALLY helpful if the pictures in the tutorials could stay and I believe it would inhance the site. Thanks.
  14. Do you usually thin the epoxy when using it as a top coat? How many coats do you apply? Will it leave a high gloss sheen? Thanks!
  15. I really like the tip using forstner bits. I going to start using them, it would seem it would assist in centering the hole also.
