  1. Yes, it does work. I pour 1/4oz shakey heads using a Do-It mold and replace the weedgaurd with a screw loc. I put the round section of a drill bit inside the screw loc when I pour so the lead will be flush with the head. I have read here in the past about using a collar (spinnerbait or jig) to remove the barb and excess lead from the head as well. You can do a search and find it on this site. Dawgfish
  2. I guess I should have stated I was looking for the ROUND living rubber. Anyway, I emailed living rubber and Paul Bokman got me fixed up . Thanks for all of the responses.
  3. Guys, I am looking for a dark brown living rubber. I currently have some material that is a light brown but I would like for it to be a few shades darker. I have looked at all the websites (living rubber, stamina, barlows, netcraft, etc.) but can't tell by the pics on the websites. Any info would be appreciated.
  4. Yeah, it looks like it will be the first of November. They responded back to me last week and said it would be a couple of weeks. I have included a pic from I-Cast and it shows what they will be offering.

    cheap mold

Yeah, I agree about the moisture. I recommend baking the water putty mold to "cure" it before you use it.

    cheap mold

For a cheap mold try water putty. You can find it at Lowes. It is a powder and all you do is mix it with water. I have used this with a few of my spinnerbait molds and have poured dozens of them with no problems. You can make a two part mold easily. There was at one time a tutorial out there for doing this. If you can't find it let me know and I will try and find it in my archive of articles. Dawgfish
  7. I know a guide that fishes wooden swimbaits and the first thing he does is remove the tail that came from the factory and replace it with a 4" soft plastic Fin-S jerkbait. He picked this type of jerkbait because it doesn't have the hook pocket like a Fluke or other comparable baits. The Fin-S comes in several different colors. He just picks one that matches the color of the swimbait and cuts it to the length he needs (which is about 3") and attaches it to the bait. It looks killer in the water.
