[Large Black Nikel Hook?]

guys

i hae looking for some large spinnerbaits hooks,the only one that i use are mustad,size is perfect but i would like a higher quality product . the result of my search were all saltwater.

so i am wondering if someone can suggest me some good one around 3 to 4 inch long black nikel ones?please no saltwater

DDl, you must be doing something different with you painting methods because powder is more chip resistant that anything else I used, however the only paint worth putting on a jig besides powder is vinyl. Vinyl moves with the jig such as if your jig head develops a dent, the finish will conform rather than chip but it will chip eventually. Do you cure your powder painted jigs after painting?

yes i cure,like they suggest.

some spinnerbaits like marv's m@g use real paint and the thing they made is at least 50% more chip resistant than any powder painted head.

a shop near my home also make some spinnerbaits head that are painted and the thing is very chip resistant

so i wondering if anybody know a good way to paint them with airbrush or something else,that is more chip resistant. than powder.

Here's what worked for me very well. Do a pearl base coat then spray the top half of the bait a basic yellow color (you can very the yellow color based on water clarity). Then hold scale mesh over the bait and spray with a watermelon green color. I then took the watermelon green and added black and brown to it too dull it down and make it darker. This color I used to spray the V shaped bars and to do the back of the bait. A little bit of orange accent on the throat and you've got yourself a winner. You can very the intensity of the colors and accents based on water clarity. Generally pailler for clear and more contrast for stained.
