  1. I'm a newbie and have made about 30 balsa crankbaits ..i used a 2 and 7/8 inch balsa body from janns ..they all look a lot like a bagleys d-b 3 or d-b 1 and 2's .. my ? is how do you know what is the proper weight to install .. and where is the the proper spot under the belly .. i try to copy off of the look of the bagleys balsas.. I am useing rattle cans to paint them because i'm afraid of my airbrush . and i have to wait for the weather to get warm so i can paint outside with my airbrush. no garage .. and it stinks the house up . i made a oven that bakes at 135 degrees .with a small fan in it and hangers so i can get that baked on finish ..i know a lot of them are probably gonna flip and not run true . .and go nuts reeling in i will have to learn how to tune them ..i saw belly weights at different weights ..i just wonder how you know what weight to use for each crankbait ..also i have used a few circuit board bills ..all glued with a 2 part epoxy glue .. devcon .. any pro tips are greatly appreciated .. Thanks and GOD BESS, DANNY C.

Are there any old timers out there that have ever heard of a spinner bait called a tussle bug made by a co. named lucas lure co. it is a big 1.5 ounce single COLARADO blade.. it looks a lot like a strike zone ledge buster i have been trying to remake some and need a picture to go by . my bros. in law caught a 8.5 pound bass last yr. with one and i want to try and make some. I googled it and came up with nothing .. any info. at all is greatly appreciated .. Thanks and GOD BLESS, DANNY C.

  6. HI TO ALL , THIS SITE IS AWESOME!! WOW!! YOU GUYS HERE ARE MAKEING BEAUTIFUL LURES! BEUTIFUL!!! I'm a newbie here and just bought 20 new balsa bodies and a bunch of spinner bait bodies for makeing lures. i have a million questions but i'll try and get to the point .. i'm into the bagleys d-b- 3 look and also the bandits hardbaits .. i have made a few already and i have a lot to learn .. my first ? is do i need to buy wood conditioner b 4 i start the painting process ? i was told to look 4 minwax at home depot or lowes. 2nd- BOUGHT A AIBRUSH but have found it to be a lot of maint. such as cleaning between each color . and a real pain in the butt to keep changeing colors a lot. is it ok to use different color paints like useing krylon yellows and oranges and greens etc. in a regular spray paint can? 3rd- i went to a hobby shop and bought some 15 minute epoxy so i can put a good protector on after the final paints? can i brush it on and make it look good? 4th- i want to paint some balsa bodies a bone color but how do i get that color from white? do i mix a little brown or black in it? 5th- any pro tips are greatly appreciated ..i will post some pic.s of the ones i have done already and you wii get a good laugh at these .. they look like a little kids art project .. but will probably catch hawgs ..lol i can't wait to complete my first set of bagleys balsa's GOD BLESS !!!
