  1. I have been powder painting for about 6 years. I have a similar way to clean the eyes. I use a small dremel bit (small grinding stone) I break all the stone off so that it is just a pin. When the jigs are cool I Just poke the bit thru the eye with the dremel on high speed. It just melts the paint. No burrs and its real quick.
  2. I found a website (onlinemetals.com). It has a chart of different metals and their melting points. Steel (the hook) has a melting point of 2500F. Tungsten is 6000F. I guess we'll never melt actual Tungsten in our shop or garage.
  3. I heard through the grapevine that tungsten jigs are not 100% tungsten. they say that it is lead with a tungsten powder mixed in, the powder is recycled tungsten or an epoxy mixture as stated. what I was told is that molten tungsten would melt a hook. This is all hearsay so don't hold this to me. I am not a metalurgist.
  4. Did you try Living Rubber CO.
  5. Where was this jig bought, or what brand. I want to see this. Was it Made in Japan or here in the US.
  6. I use an electric sander with fine paper. Then I powder coat the heads.
  7. I think they are the "Z-man" skirts that you can buy from Jann's (90% sure). The collar and skirting are fused togther if I am correct.
  8. Thanks for the info guys. I always used Gami and will continue to use them. I just seen the price for those Matzuo (cheap), and had to see if anyone used them, Thanks again.
  9. I have two questions. I have never used Matzuo hooks, are they a quality hook. I am interested in the 90 degree aberdeen jighooks (black chrome round bend 117010). I usually use a 604 Gami, are the Matzuo simalar? and are they the same sizes? What I mean by this is when I purchased Mustad Black nickel 2/0 they were bigger than the Gami 2/0 by at least a size. Thanks
  10. What an Idea ! I don't know if that will work but I'm going to keep an eye on this thread and see what people say. I'm probably going to start looking around at different dyes and see if its possible.
  11. Thanks for the info. Do you need a tax number to buy from them? Also is Rat Trap Skirts still in business.
  12. I was hoping someone could help me out. I am looking for Fine cut silicone skirts or layers (Where to purchase them). I know that Stamina, Jann's etc. carries them, but I'm looking for more color choices. Thanks
