  1. Gang I bought a bunch of these Spinner Bait heads from a guy recently. I really think that the shape is going to be good in the weeds. If any one knows where I can get others, Please let me know. I especially like the little lip that's on the bottom of the head. If any body knows of a used mold I might be interested in it.
  2. Any one know where I can get a tool like the photo that Dink Master posted. I'm using the "swivel sleeves" that Ap Driver referred to. I bought a Crimping Pliers along with the swivel sleeves from Barlow's. I tried using it last night and the sleeves slid down the wire shaft. I have one of the Electric Devices that are referenced. Tonight I went to Harbor Freight and they really didn't have anything I thought would work. I then went to Michael's Crafts and bought a "Micro Crimper Tool". I hope that will work. Anybody have suggestions would be appreciated. Maybe I'm using a TOO THIN of a wire to make the arms. What is the wire diameter that you have found to be successful ???
  3. Apdriver, how do you keep the swivel sleeve in place??? Do you merely "clamp down" one or both ends??? Crym Dawg
  4. I've been making my own A-Rigs but have been unable to figure out how to put a Willow Leaf Blade on the arms like the Commercial companies do. Does anyone have a suggestion to resolve my problem ?? Thanks in Advance !!!
  5. I'm looking for suggestions for Spinnerbait Spacers that are thin tubes that go over the wire frames of Spinner Baits. I've checked "Lure Parts on Line" and they only have clear plastic ones. There's no listing on "Jann's Netcraft". I haven't checked "Barlow's". Went to "Michael's Crafts" today and searched their Jewelry Making area and found Nothing. Also what is a Good Suggestion for glue to secure plastic Brush Guards for Jigs??
  6. I'm referring to chatter bait blades also called Bladed Jigs.
  7. Gang, I'm seeing conflicting info on where to put the blade reflecting tape. I put mine on the back side facing the lure body. Other sources put it on the front of the blade which I can't understand why. The fish approaches from the rear, so why put the reflector tape on the front ??
  8. Thanks for all the suggestions. The reason I don't use wire is that as I'm building the color composition for the skirt, I wrap the thread a couple of times till I get the colors that I like. I'm also using the Sally Hanson Hard as Nails clear. That single bottle has lasted me for many years.
  9. Gang, I am tying my own Spinner Bait, Bladed Jig and Regular Jig skirts instead of using the rubber collar. I'm using a High End clear finger nail polish as Head Cement to lock up the thread wraps. Just wondering if anyone has had experience good or bad with this medium.

  11. When I made my fluid beds I used pillow covers designed to keep out Dust Mites body parts. Found them at a department store.
  12. How/Where do I apply the Round nose pliers ?? Do I put the pin portion in the eye?? Or the cup portion over the eye ?? I really don't want to scuff up any more power paint finishes !!!
  13. Hit there Tackle Underground family. I'm in a bind and looking for some suggestions. I've poured and powder coated about 30 bladed jig heads using the SPARKIE Jig head mold and the techniques shown on YouTube on the Lure Making channel. The problem now is that I can't figure on how to close the eye of the, WEY525 wire form, to keep the blades from working off. I had to slightly open the eye of the wire form to get a very thin Ignition Point file in to clean up some lead. I've tried using a pliers, but it leaves marks in the Powder Paint. I've even tried to use a Tack Hammer and put the jig head down on my wooden work table and then striking the eye, but alas the eye stays closed. Any constructive suggestions would be deeply suggested. See the enclosed photos.
  14. Years ago I made some Bladed Jigs using a Spinner Bait mold and attaching a short piece of wire to the eye of the hook. I would then bend the wire in a loop to accept a blade like those sold on the various fishing lure parts sites. That way I would not have to attach a Jump Ring to the wire and made the production a bit faster. I tried using a jig mold and adding the Jump ring later but I could never get the right jig eye set up and had to use TWO RINGS which GREATLY reduced the vibration. Any suggestions would be helpful. I especially don't need the PATENT OFFICE POLICE banging on my door for Patent Infringement, if you know what I mean. Thanks in advance for responses and suggestions. Any photos would be helpful.
