  1. Thats why I moved south . Went surf fishing Saturday , air temp 80* , water temp 60* , only caught one bluefish but its better than shoveling snow . Bill
  2. Now thats cool , I bet you could sell them in south Florida .
  3. Sell the bullets then buy some ingots , the bullets are worth a lot more . The lube is wax based and will smoke when melted . Cast bullets are fairly hard , if you are casting small jigs or something they may not fill in all the way . Bill
  4. Yes , it shrinks slightly as it cools , the softer it is the more it shrinks . You also have to remember what ever you pour it into will expand and contract with the heat as well . Bill
  5. Most shotgun pellets contain arsenic , if the shot is still in the bags read them . If you still want to melt it do it outside . Bill
  6. I have tried some 100% Fluoro lines on my surf poles , I can't remember the brand , might have been Seaguar . I didn't like it because it held the coils from the spinning reel when cast and was constantly getting loops in the line . I do use the Seaguar Fluoro leader material for making leaders because its tough but its still no match for something with sharp teeth , Bluefish cut me off all the time . Bill
  7. My name is Bill , I live in Port Orange FL , 41 years old , married with one daughter who loves to fish and wants to be a marine biologist . I owned a machine shop / gun shop before moving south , now I sell reloading supplies on Gunbroker and Ebay . I've been here 4 years moving from NH where I fished for trout and bass mostly , here I fish saltwater . Right now I make spinners but would like to get into making hard baits and soft plastics . I've been making spinners for about 1 year . Bill
  8. Here in FL after they kill them they use them for people food
  9. Janns netcraft has what you are looking for , its called a live net part #933-101 . Bill
  10. $.20-.27 per oz WOW , here they are $.10-.12 per oz . Try to find someone who metal detects the beach and offer to buy all the sinkers they find , surf fishing sinkers add up quick . Bill
  11. The scrap yard here pays $.25lb for lead and sells it for @$1lb . Try the local shooting range , most have to pay to have the lead removed . Bill
  12. Look around this site if you want some good examples . Most companies will send you a free catalog if you request one , Lure Craft , Janns Netcraft , Barlows etc. . A good wire former saves lots of time . Bill
  13. Another source of lead is shooting ranges , most jacketed bullets use soft lead which melts and pours easily . The only down side is there is lots of waste to skim off . Most ranges have to pay to have the lead removed so they will sell to yo very cheap or give it to you . Bill
  14. Do you want pencil lead which is graphite or do you want lead wire ? For graphite try Great Lakes Carbon Corp , I haven't delt with them for 20 or so years so I'm not sure if they are still in business . For lead wire try CH4d.com , they sell bullet swaging products and I know they sell lead wire .
