    Fishing Line?

Has anyone have a opinion on the use of cortland endurance or sufix elite for a spinning reel?
  2. I would appreciate some feed back from members on their use of super glue on snelled knots tied with flourocarbon line. Will it would reinforce my knot & give it a little extra insurance to keep the knot from slipping? Will it harm my line? What type of super glue liquid or gel?
  3. Thanx for the feed back Ben.I do a lot of jigging in low light conditions where there is some ambient light and a hi-vis line would help.My concern is I want a hi-vis 8lb-10lb line with low memory that wont cause twists.
  4. I would appreciate any members opinion on a high visibility non braid line for use with spinning gear.I mostly fish at night in shallow water & use a short fluorocabon leader. My concerns are line memory, line twist & visibility.I prefer mono as it seems more hassle free but a hi-vis copolymer hybrid would also do the trick.
  5. I obtained 10 vintage luhr jensen hot shot 60's bodies.I would appreciate some member feedback on what size siwash & what size treble hooks to use on them, also should I use a split ring on these tiny blanks.I would appreciate your recommendations on the colors to paint them. Thanks
  6. Is there any validity to the claim that the rotary pliers will reduce hackle twists? Thanks again members for your responces, what a great world wide community that will offer their advise in helping to solve a problem.
  7. Thanks members for your feed back. bassrecord to answer your questions I tie a small number of jigs & tubes in many patterns for trophy size walleye, large pike and also panfish sizes.I tie in from both tip first and also stem first before winding.I am still wondering why people are using rotary pliers if there isn't any difference or a negative tying experience? I am sorry but I am still confused in the difference in the use of the short vs the long handled pliers does it depend on the hackle size or just a personal preference in the handling of the pliers?
  8. I am considering buying a pair of rotary hackle pliers and would appreciate uny members feed back on their use compared to tradional hackle pliers. Also any opinion on the use of a small short handled rotary pliers vs. the long handled rotary pliers.I tie with a regular vise not a rotary one and i tie mostly jigs and tube flies if that helps any.

    Fuzzy Buggy001

Nice jig Fuzzy-Wuzzy,is this rabbit & what jig size?
  10. Peterjay:Sorry I don't have any pictures but if you do a google search it will come right up.It states--Hula Wrap:Is a very wide mylar that comes in spools that is a mix of holographic and clear fibers that are stiched into a very wide chenille.Fibers are 2" long. Baitfish Emulator:This is a mix of texturize mylar with a treated edge for winding comes in 2" & 5" sizes. It appears you palmer wrap these products on your fly or jig.
  11. Hi Members:I would appreciate any members feedback on tying with the products Hula Wrap or Baitfish Emulator Flash.
  12. Great looking jig Ageowa,A real innovative idea of using non fishing every day products. With the addition of a bunny strip on the nail it looks like it could be used for a zonker style of jig. That holographic polish is very eye catching.and appears fish catching also.
  13. Thanks Nathan for your response.I think I understand the differece between palmering the two types of rabbit strips. My dillema is I still don,t know wich one to use.I would like the opinions of the members regarding what rabbit strip they use, zonker or crosscut in palmering jigs sizes #8 & size&6.?
  14. Thanks wvmtman for your reply,You have saved me some trouble and money as I want the fullest profile for my palmered jigs and I had some wrong info concerning zonkers vs crosscuts.
  15. I would appreciate the opinions of TU members regarding palmering jigs with zonker straight rabbit strips, I heard it will give your jig a much fuller profile verses a crosscut rabbit strip .Are there any drawbacks on palmering with zonkers vs. crosscuts.Im not sure wich style of hair to invest in or will I need both types?
