  1. Go to clear bags, you can order as little or as many, cheaper the more you order,I get mine from there ,you will have the up front fee for color plates,I get mine for a round 10 cents each for 5000
  2. We pour thousands of baits for our customers,Ive tried them all!!Lurecraft for us,very high heat resistant,we cook with 4 1000 watt mics set on high and this stuff doesn't yellow, and its tough!!
  3. Bogbaits Green Mamba Rattle Snake Lure, these come in 6 inch and 8 inch versions, custom colored plastic and custom painted, these have a 3 ball Pyrex glass rattle inserted in the tail ,they also come in slow sinking and Floating version to give our customers the different options, realistic 3d Snake eyes add to the look of this Very Cool Snake lure, they have a crazy tail action when worked properly with the extra weight of the rattle in the tail.
  4. Do it molds make the 6.75 inch molds that I sell on my site
  5. We purchase ours from www.uscomposites.com they also have a lot of other cool stuff you may be interested in,prices are great also,as for who makes it I believe 3m makes the best but a lot of mold makers and lure supply stores sell it,buy in bulk and save big!!!
  6. I have tried 3 different versions of this stuff, soft medium and hard and all of it took over 3 weeks for the baits to cure, tacky from the get go,emailed them and they said to add some worm oil to the bait???Not impressed at all,too bad,had a lot of good qhaulies also
  7. Just want to comment on this post,I have purchased a lot of molds from mold manufacturer, some commercial molds and some private custom molds,ANlmost every mold I have purchased took some trial and error in pouring a complete perfect bait, mold making is not an exact science, that being said a mold maker is not a lure maker,we are 2 different animals, mold makers in all due respect do not come close to pouring the number of baits that the lure maker pours,And that being said not sure even if the mold maker could pour some of his or hers creation without defects, all the molds Ive purchased needed to be tweaked one way or the other, the mold maker does not have a clue how to make them work for your plastic, heating device etc,Hope this came acrossed the right way,do not want to offend anyone, every mold is different and there are so many variables with plastic and heating devices,SO I THINK WHAT IM SAYINGB IS ITS UP TO YOU LURE MAKERS TO MAKE THEM WORK,POUR POUR AND POUR SOME MORE,THATS THE WAY I LEARNED T GET THEM RIGHT!!!lol
  8. its not that,I have called for the last 2 months, cant even get a call back,I have tried from a dozen computers from different locations keep getting this error This site can’t provide a secure connectionhookset.com uses an unsupported protocol. ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH and this Unsupported protocol The client and server don't support a common SSL protocol version or cipher suite. This is likely to be caused when the server needs RC4, which is no longer considered secure.
  9. Having a problem contacting the hookset.com site,I can go to the site but cant go to the cart or account pages, have emailed them for the last 2 months with no responce, just wondering since they are a sponsor does anyone have any info is the site just having problems or have they folded up?
  10. Just wanted to throw this one out there,I use lurecraft plastic and have for the last 10 years, reasons why,I have tried every plastic that is out there and I mean everything, lure craft 60/40 mix works for me as well as the salt water ,I have 5 1000 watt mics going almost everyday and they are set on high, thats it,put in the plastic and go,no stirring inbetween, lurecraft is the only plastic out of all of these that does not yellow or buble under my conditions, everyone one of the others and I do mean everyone of them bubbled and yellowed under my conditions,so it does all depend on how we use the plastic also,I just find lurecraft plastic has more or a better heat stabilizer,i can reheat many many times under these conditions
  11. This will take forever,do the microwave thing,it will be good as new in under 10 minutes, done it several times
  12. Never even needed a nut or worm oil, just get it hot then shake the you know what out of it but if its really old and the seperation has dried the liquid out the ad the worm oil
  13. I have several bottles of colorant that was old and settled, put them in the mic for short burst, worked great, seem to thin out the color, heated it up and made it a breeze to mix again, just watch it closely
  14. When I say over pour I dont mean too much but I found it a whole lot faster when your pouring large orders for customers to trim the bait than to pour a slow stream of plastic into every mold, just my way to speed things up,I know how to pour all these molds but just a whole lot faster with great results, just another way to do things
  15. You can also flood the mold and over pour it with real hot plastic, you will then have to trim the lure of the flash
  16. I dont believe dryer sheets or fiberglass sheets will support any large cracks that why I use wood strips one half inch thick,2 inches wide and they run the full length of the mold and are epoxied to the outside of the mold,I run a lure making buisiness and these molds are used daily for over ten years,i have done the mesh thing when pouring the molds but it wont help you when you drop the mold,it falls and cracks, you need to stiffen it up on the outside, have had them crack from falling but it never effected the mold!!!You could even go one step further and epoxt wood strips on the sides of the molds also for a bullet proof mold,I never ever had to though!!!
  17. I dont do hair but all my water putty molds get coated on the outside with 2 ton epoxy and then wood slats applied to the outside over the epoxy,if they should ever crack they will not fall apart,it keeps them together,I have had the same molds for over 10 years using this process
  18. Just want to say over the years Ive been a sponsor and just a member and you all are some of the most awesome people on the planet, what a great site, great people,I love comming on here and just reading most of the time,I dont comment much as I DONT THINK YOU NEED MY 2 CENTS,ANY WAY LOVE COMMING HERE,THANX FOR BEING HERE WITH THIS GREAT SITE !!!
  19. I have had the same problem with a large Frog mold I have,10 inches long and the frog weights 8 ounces,The only way I could make it work was to pour each side of the bait with the mold open then close it and inject the center,on such large baits you end up pushing the internal air that's in the molds, not even sure you could vent it properly as it takes a large injector, maybe if you were machine injecting you could vent it properly, anyway this way works for me
  20. Merry Christmas to all the Tackle Underground People,Fans,Visitors,Have a great and Safe Christmas from Bogbaits
  21. Just wanted to add if your using epoxy to coat your mold than you can use almost anything including wood filler, bondo, even epoxy to fill the holes before you apply the sealer coat
  22. You did not mention what your mold was made of,if its made of plaster than yes you can,I have done this many times, you can also use epoxy, wood filler, ive used those also
  23. Ok,No big deal to me!!!It is what it is!!
  24. I hope this is ok,i have some wood lure blanks for sale in the classifieds and thought I would let the hard bait section know,I don't know what they are worth,If anyone is interested they are there
