    Dowell Rods

Awesome! That's exactly what I need. Thanks for the link.

    Dowell Rods

I'm having trouble marking center on the ends. Do you guys worry with that or not? I'm having to do all my shaping by 80 grit sandpaper, dremel and a wood rasp.

    Dowell Rods

Looking at making some 4 to 6" large wakebaits. Anyone ever use dowell rods for lure bodies?
  4. I have noticed that on a shallow running crankbait that I heated the lip and bent back to run like a wake bait. It looks like the lip is angled slightly. The fish LOVE it. It doesn't just track straight back like most wake baits. It has a little search to it. It will be coming straight back and then kick out to the left a bit before coming back to straight on and then do the same to the opposite. I'd been keeping this to myself until now.

    Buzz Tail

I am looking into using a small buzz blade (1/8 oz size) as a tail for a small swimbait, like the tail on the Daiwa Dead or Alive bait. I was just wondering if you guys could help me figure out a way to mount this and be able to use a rear hook hanger. Basically it will be like a prop bait but with a small buzz blade instead of a prop. Can it work and be sturdy enough?
  6. I haven't narrowed down any particulars. I'm wanting to hear the ups and downs of both.
  7. Solder the wires together and cover in heat-shrink tubing
  8. Why not find a strand of stainless wire in a diameter of your choice and try twisting two to three strands together with a power drill and then folding that over and re-twisting that. Just a thought
  9. I was looking through Do-It's website and saw this sinker mold. Was wondering what everyone thought about it as a possibility of a lure retriever? Do-it Molds: Claw Sinker Mold
  10. I am thinking about starting to make a couple of spoons for personal use. They will be used for fishing ledges, humps, and flats. The sizes will range from 3/4-1 oz. I will be targeting largemouth bass. Any suggestions on which molds and styles will be beneficial and any other tips will be greatly appreciated.
  11. Looking great man...I'm interested to see some of your baits. From as much knowledge as you have on cranks they will be interesting
