final count is in... I have 6 deep maxi-R's and 17 deep mini-R's... All in the original packages... brand new... some of the boxes have the rebel fastback boat picture, while others have numbered fishing tips... I've decided against using them or painting them... gonna look around at old fishing lure sites... thanks JSC...

well interesting... I have 23 of these in the original boxes... lures are all in excellent condition but the the boxes are beat up some... I'll get them all together after my tournament this weekend and post more... guess I'm a collector now... cool... guess what I paid for them wasn't so bad after all...

I do have most of the original packaging with most unopened... boxes are a bit beat up after 30 years of being shuffled around... they are the old boxes with the Rebel fastback bassboat picture on them... My buddy picked up the rest the other night sio when I get them all together I'll figure out something...

I just picked up a bunch of Old rebel deep mini R's and a few deep maxi R's... great lures considering they are maybe 30 years old... Anybody got input on these baits? in the pool, they dove deep, had a thunking rattle like a fat free shad... very buoyant... 23 baits in all but one color: bone orange belly... I'll be looking for a paint guy soon... do the bills just unscrew, or are they glued on too? thanks for any help...

thanks for the tips! I'm off to a bass pro and was gonna check these out... I like the piece of plastic worm idea... doesnt lunker lure make a little wire deal to hold a tube on better? Also might want to look at a eagle claw HP hook with the little clip... while on the subject of swimbaits... I've bought and then resold many and still haven't found the right one... action color etc, have never stood out... I've tried 3:16 lures bait,( best so far), and alot of jighead, paddle tail combos... I think the whole "basstrix' deal comes down to this: it is a bait and a hook... something that all bass guys can relate to... no wooden plugs, no $50.00 hunks of plastic...

If you got a bunch of 1/4 oz. that don't swivel, I'll buy them off ya... I personally could care less if they swivel...

You guiys might want to try what 3:16 lures does with there mission fish swimbaits... instead of a one piece deal, they glue the paddle tail on separate... this is on there sunfish lure, which is awesome...

I read there is high quality swivels from Japan and cheap ones from china...

I was thinking of the tip up jig for spider grubs... small 2/0 3/0 hook, spinning gear, 1/4, 3/8 oz. what do you think?

FYI recent article in bass and walleye boats... Battery comparision... said lead prices have more than tripled. increasing cost of batteries.

Ok, let me chime in here, first off, tungsten is about as tough a metal as you can find... you will find it is used on missle nose cones... Most tungsten weights are 'machined" not molded... Nobody is going to be molding tungsten in there garage... unless your garage is the lockheed skunk works... my guess is the tungsten jigs and spinnerbaits are a powder epoxy mix... that would make it a really heavy plastic with a tungsten suspension... easy to figure out, grab your tungsten jig with pliers and squeeze, you do any damage then you got a mix... I find it all but impossible to mold a pure tungsten jighead... you would black out your whole town before you got the right tempurature... not only would the hooks be melted but the mold and garage too... This opens some doors though... Tungsten powder mixed with plastic in molds... As far as lead bans go, a jighead is still good anywhere, they just ban plain sinkers...

I've seen coffee extract or coffee oil at cooking places... Instant coffee might be an option too... Mister twister had banana scent sometime ago...
