  1. Paints were basically Createx pearls and Createx transparents with a Wasco shimmering paint on top. The paint wrinkled instantly witihn 5 minutes after DN was brushed on. I painted one a week before I brushed, the others were 24 hours after I sprayed. When dipping, do you let your extra drip on cardboard??? How long do you let cure before you take em fishing?????????
  2. Hey guys, I have cleared quite a few baits in the past week with Dick Nites. It seems as if two coats is necessary for bass fishing. Although out of about 20 lures, four have paint wrinkles and one had paint bleeding. I thought they were completely cured and heat set but this still happened. I am using mostly waterbased Createx, and Polytranspar. Please help!!! Any ideas will be appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. www.custombasstackle.com, They do great work too.
  4. I have been using water based Createx for a year now and like it fine. The only thing I dislike is the drying time on moist days and limited clear coat availability. However, I keep hearing from other painters that I should go to lacquer based paint for even better results and detail. Is this true, because I have an awful lot of water based paint that I need to use!!!!!
  5. Riverman: Is that lacquer in an aerosol can??? Can I use this on topwateras to minimze the weight issue??? Finally, what do you use for a primer??? I use just basic white paint. IS this correct??? Thanks, Shoalie
  6. I fish a lot of grass lakes where we rip a lipless crankbait through the grass. The paint and epoxy (Devcon 2T) comes off within a few hours. My crankbaits do not do this, probably because of the bill. What am I doing wrong or what do I need to add to a Rat-L-Trap type lure so the paint and epoxy will last longer???? Any help will be appreciated!!! Shoalie
