  1. HMMM I wonder what it is too... Whatver it is it SURE isn't a durable wood. Those things absolutely fall apart after multiple fish, Or it may have to do with how they seal and epoxy.
  2. Wouldn't it be best to cast the foam insert first and then position it in the mold; followed by pouring the plastic into the mold? The foam has to be positioned in mold BEFORE the plastic is poured right? Also it's definitely not insulating foam. Its much harder and more dense, where can it be purchased?
  3. I am very interested in figuring out what that stuff is exactly and how to produce it. That is EXACTLY what I was talking about..seems the hook in incorporated into the foam somehow, wonder how it holds up?
  4. Come on, none of you guys know?
  5. What type of material is that yellow stuff swimbaits like castaic huddleston and rago have inside of them?? How would you go about using it? I believe this is to provide stability within the bait but not sure.
  6. Thanks for your ongoing help dampeoples! When I said add white, I meant to the hot plastic to have a white bait to paint over. It would make the plastic white and take care of the belly, then do my painting over that. I'll definitely be airbrushing. I wanted to use a silver coat for the upper two thirds of the trout as the base and then spray the back green. Lurecraft has a good green pumpkin color but I can't find silver...maybe clear paint mixed with fine silver flake would work?
  7. The plastic dries clear correct? I would need to add white if i want a bait to paint over I'm assuming. Also can I pour hot plastic in to an RTV mold? Thanks for the help!
  8. What kind of plastic should I use for pouring 6 inch trout swimbaits? It will have a pretty cool type of boot tail that should move at a pretty slow speed. Do I just use regular plastisol? Any idea on the type of plastic huddleston uses?...I want to try and achieve that consistency. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.
