  1. Thanks guys the Elmer’s cement is the best I have found thanks again!!
  2. anyone know what type of glue you can use to glue balsa planks together temporairly so they are easier to cut out? i saw a video a while ago but i cant find it and in the video after he cut blanks out he used a hair dryer to heat the blank and it came apart instantly! thanks Todd Hogan
  3. Hoppys spinnerbaits they sell Emerald Blades the best thumping blade u can get period!
  4. what do you guys use to seal the edges of circuit board bills to keep them from fraying. Thanks
  5. I use Dura tuff by Famowood u have to keep in the freezer take it out after about an hour u can dip stuff is great its softer than epoxy but stands up to hook marks and fish catches!!
  6. Try this First paint the bait black then use pearl silver after a few coats you can see urself in the bait!!
  7. I am looking for someone to recommend someplace to get ballast weights. I make shallow running balsa cranks and I seen some baits where the ballast weight sticks out of the bait (Thunder Shad Crankbaits) I would really like to get a mold made or something I have some weights now that a mold can be made of but I don't have anyone who can do it. Thanks
  8. lurepartsonline.com sells ballast weights cheap and different sizes
  9. I find devcon is just to brittle unless u thin it I use 3 thinned coats tip!!!!! mix the devcon completely first with a brush then throw out the brush and use a new one to coat the bait hold it up to the lite to make sure its completely covered then repeat!
  10. [i have a few there not the magical bait everyone makes them to be they look almost like a thundershad ill post a pic in a day or so
  11. I have found that e tex cures almost to hard and does not stand up to the challenge of devcon 2 ton. 2 coats of devcon over createx paint is what i use. You can try this though with e tex mix very well for about 5 min then put it in the freezer for 20 min then apply it cold I know it sounds silly but it will make it a little more plyable and crack less!!!

    Devcon

Here is a good way to mix take a big roll of masking tape found at wal mart and tear a piece of and put it down on your work area mix the epoxy right on the tape when your done peel the tape off and throw it away. (this eliminates non mixing thouroghly)
  13. When Im doing balsa baits I use oil base kilz for the sealer and after sanded with 400 grit and recoated createx lays on real good.
  14. devcon is good but the best I have found is called pelucid. go to marine-paint .com and type it in it is awesome. you can dip the bait and hang it
