Cubbie4457, where do I send the pic
  4. The ones I have were made in bulk from a sample I sent the manufacturer. They fit the diner shiner as in the pic on the Do-It website. If you have issues with them return them and I'll refund your money.
  5. Didn't get sick. Quit before any symptoms developed.

    Yes, thanks. Invoice sent.
  7. I thought about lead free, but my market would not tolerate the expense or the weight difference. Everyone wants smaller/heavier. I found that you could lay an ingot of lead on your hand for 20 years and not get contaminated. It's when you work it by hand and rub it till your fingers are black that you can absorb it into your system. When you transfer this black residue to cups and eating utensils or touch your mouth you can add to your contamination. The melting methods we as hobby pourers or even small business operators don't get the lead hot enough to be a problem. Lead does not vaporize at those temps. It's when we use dirty lead that smokes or when we flux that residue becomes airborne. Not to mention what's in the smoke from other contaminants. It is always a good idea to wash your hands anytime you come in from the shop or just take a break. If you notice that black residue on your hands wash them first in cold water as hot water tends to open your pores and let some lead into your system. Wear your protective stuff because it is always better to er on the side if caution. You can find some really good info on those bullet casting sites.

    Lead Molds and Hooks

Clearing out all lead bait making equipment and supplies Questions will be answered here by PM or at 559-240-6754. New molds have never been used or once or twice to produce samples. Used molds have been used through the course of business. Prefer to sell hooks by lot, but will sell 100pks of any hook. Will use the most economical method of shipping. Thanks
  11. Hello fellow Leadheads, It is with a sad heart that I quitting all production of lead baits. My doctor finally said that I have reached my saturation point and would be in my beat interest to quit. I will be liquidating the wire bait portion of my business. I will start posting equipment and component list in the classifieds soon. I am OK health wise. I don't glow in the dark or have uncontrollable twitches. It's just time to move on. I will continue following the soft plastics forum as I will still be producing plastic baits.
  12. And remember that you can recover the over spray and use it again as long as you collect it.
  13. I was always told that the gate is in the mold and the runner is that piece of plastic the baits are attached to once you pull then out of the mold. The gate used to be really short back when we were top pouring, but injection made it longer.
  14. Hi Robert, I'm in Fresno as well. Welcome to the frey.
  15. I tried all the usual stuff with negative results. Do-It sent me an extension tube to try and it didn't work. It wasn't until I opened up the gate that I got good results. I don't worry about pressure or clamping and I don't get incomplete baits. First picture is how the molds come from Do-It. Second pictures is mold after mod.
  16. Had the same problem with the 4" twin tail. I had a local machine shop open up gate all the way down. The original gate decreases in size by about half and freezes off. It won't matter how much pressure you hold or how long you hold it if hot plastic can't get to the cavities. I believe it is a design flaw with those molds.
  17. I use the small dust collection system from Harbor Freight. Has an attached collection bag, is explosion proof and moves 660cfm. used some ducting and mounted it under the table. Works great and you will be able to use solvent based paints if you wish. Not the cheapest solution, but it works great for me.
  18. the white powdery substance could be from the super glue reacting to your body oils. The process of super glue fuming has long been used to develop fingerprints. A quick wipe down of the jig with a clean cloth before installing the weedguard usually takes care of the problem.
  19. I've seen a clear glitter called "Snow Flakes", but don't remember where it is from. Do a search here on TU.
  20. Cadman, No It is pliable and you will have to pick it out of small cavities. One pound is way too much unless you use it every day on multiple molds (large molds). I would be willing to send you half a pound if you pay the freight.
