Pop, This is to purchase without taxes, however you have to collect taxes and forward them to the appropriate agency. This is mostly beneficial to bisiness owners. Otherwise you have to pay the tax on the product you use. TJ
  3. OK thanks, I never would have guessed. TJ
  4. What is a Flying Condum? TJ
  5. Do-It has one in their semi-custom mold series, but it is $150.00 Item# 65Round Head JigPlain10 (All Alike)No570-575 Sizes (oz.)1/64 TJ
  6. Do a search for laminates in the soft plastics gallery, you'll find some cool pics there. TJ
  7. Thats pretty cool, but kind of scarry looking. TJ
  8. Almost forgot, here is a pic of the bottle.
  9. I use a paint sample bottle that I get at my local Kelly Moore paint dealer. With the bottle about half full or empty whichever you prefer, hold it approx. 2-3 inches from you heated jig and squeeze gently in short puffs until you get the desired effect. You may have to adjust the angle and the force of the puffs until you get the flow that works for you The puffing does cool you jig down quicker so you will have to reheat. If you work over or into a small bos, you can recover any overspray and use it again. TJ (not from TJ's Tackle)
  10. Willie, The screw locks that Do-It has are made for their mold and work quite well. I've made hundreds of these with no problems. Gamakatsu has one thats 60 degree with a flat eye (G614), but I haven't tried it yet. TJ
  11. Thanks Vodkaman cause I have been to almost every crafts store, hobby store and framing store in my area with a picture of one and they all look at me like I'm nuts. TJ
  12. Let's see if everyone can stay out of the BatCave for at least one night. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE TJ
  13. Try livingrubber.com, they call it frogs hair. TJ
  14. Nice whiskers Del, when is the fish fry? TJ
  15. Well, while everyone is in a caring, loving and sharing mood can anyone tell me where I can find those little stands that everyone displays their crankbaits on. Thanks TJ
  16. Don't knock yourself Woody, that looks pretty good. I like the 3D thing with the head above the pincers. As the others say "Welcome to the insanity" TJ
  17. PhilB, I, like you use only left hand bait casters. It is more natural for me too. I suspect that a whole lot of people learned the other way when left handers were not available and things just got passed down. Sounds good anyway. TJ
  18. Salty Ross, If you are talking about an airbrush, get the best on you can afford. Iwata seens to be the brand of choice for a lot of the guys, but don't count out Badger or some of the others. As far as spraying vinyl, make sure you thin it to about the consistency of water or you will be spraying spider webs. I havn't found clogging to be an issue with vinyl. TJ
  19. Nova is right, if you watch it you can actually see it get sucked back in. However, there is an upside. The cavity makes it easy to insert a small cylindrical weight before Texas rigging or a weighted straight shank hook for an exposed hook. But my favorite is when pouring a transparent color, setting the main color aside and topping off with chartreuse, red or black. This gives you a nice bloodline for the first inch and a half or so. TJ
  20. I also fell victim to the allure of cheapness (is that a word?) before reading all the horror stories in these pages. I tossed the injector right away, however the stick mold I got with it works well if you drill out the gate so you can pour into it but the method used to hold it together is a pain. Good luck TJ
  21. Fishnut, The easiest way I have found to paint on eye is with wooden dowels. Take a dowel the size you want for the eye and dip the tip in the paint (red, silver etc.) and dab it on the lure where you want it and let it dry. Then take a smaller dowel, dip it in black paint and dab it somewhere in the first color depending on what look you want. You can even shape the end of the dowel to match the contours of the bait. Some guys cut holes in stencil material and spray through them. TJ
