  1. I know this has been discussed several times but my search did not reveal what I need to know. My question: What IRS form number do i need to fill out? Is it a 637? In other words what do I need to do? Fill out a form and in return do they send me a number or does the form just register me? Also, can I fill the form out online and send to the IRS or do I need to physically send the form in via mail? Thanks!
  2. I bought mine from Jann's Netcraft. It is exclusive to them. It mounts with a thumbscrew to the edge of a table or workbench. I have had very good service from this product and if I needed to replace it, I would buy the same one. Hope this helps!
  3. Here's my 2 cents- I have ordered several times from Captain hooks with excellent service. I now have ordered from Shorty's with the same great service. I am(was) under the impression that they are the same with Shorty's being the wholesale side. (yes, I have a tax#). The difference between the two: my hook price through Shorty's was about 7.5-8 cents apiece versus about 12-13 cents apiece through Captain Hook's (M34786BLN). Either way, I have had great service from both of these vendors.
  4. Just my 2 cents on the RCBS pot. I bought one used(looked new though) and it dripped so badly that it was about impossible to use. I called RCBS and told them the problem as well as that I had bought it used. They told me it was the plunger and that it was covered under warranty. I told them once again that I had bought the pot used and they told me once again that it did not matter, it was under warranty. They promptly shipped a plunger which solved about 99% of the problem. Customer service at its best! So rare nowadays! One thing I do know now- if I ever need to purchase another pot, you can bet I will buy theirs! Sorry for the long post, but I had to give some kudo's to this company and NO I am not affiliated with RCBS.
  5. Reeves, Thanks for the info. I was just curious as I have trouble sometimes with incomplete pours. Wheel weight lead in my neck of the woods (E. TN.) is not easy to come by as many local garages sell it locally to someone(havent found out yet who it is). While we are in the discussion of lead, I think I just ruined about 150 lbs. A friend gave me some lead that was in big pieces, so I melted it down on a turkey fryer base with an old wok I had bought for $2. I mixed in lead that I know was to be "good" with it and some other scrap lead that had been given to me. Now the problem- the lead when melted is gritty on top of my pot almost like sand. I can skim this layer off (bout 3/4" thick) and see clean lead but it does the same thing shortly. I have fluxed several times and still get this result. What have I done to this lead and can it be fixed? I now am afraid to put it into my RCBS pot until I can find out what contaminate is in it. My wok may have been teflon coated and am now wondering if it could cantaminate the lead. Could this lead have zinc or something else in it. Anyway, I apoligize for the long post but I need any help available. Thanks everyone!
  6. Reeves, Trying to learn here. When you state 50/50 on the mix, is that personal preference? In other words, if you pour with the 99% soft lead that is advertized on Ebay, will it work ok or do you really need some "harder" lead mixed in? Will the harder lead flow better or does that much soft lead make the jig too soft? Thanks!
  7. Thanks to all for the replies and help. I bought a heat gun today ($30) and it solved the problem. I melted the first one off the hook (LOL) but have it dialed in now. I coated about 100 tonight and it is awesome so far. It sure beats painting with the airbrush and then having to brush devcon on each one. Thanks again to all!
  8. Help! Here's the deal. I have been attempting to powder paint some jigs. I am heating 3/4 oz. football heads over a candle and then swishing them through powder in my fluid bed. Here is the problem-part of the jig surface turns out perfect but part of the surface looks pitted and does not have an even sheen. Am I heating the jig too much or not enough? Also, can I "fix" the uneven surface? The candle I am using is what I call a regular candle but it turns the jig surface black as I heat it. Is this a problem also? Thanks in advance for the "cure"!
  9. I have a FBW-4-AF football head mold from Do-It. I currently use Mustad 32756 hooks. I have used Gama 604's also. My questions: 1-Will the Matzuo 149010 fit this mold and are they any stronger/better than the Mustads? 2- I would like to find a EWG to fit this mold- does anyone know of any that will fit? 3-What is the best source (pricewise) for Gamakatzu's in quanities (1000 or more)? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys/gals!
  10. Any one know of a source other than Jann's for the 5/64" weedguard? Any help would be appreciated as I hate to pay the huge shipping costs when all I need is some weedguards. Thanks in advance for any help!
  11. I don't have any experience with this one but I do have the one from Lurecraft that is "exclusive" to them. This is the one that clamps to a workbench. This skirt tool works wonderfully and is extremely fast and easy to use. I think they are $13.95.
  12. A friend of mine gave me about 50 lbs. of lead the other day. How is the best way to cut the lead into smaller pieces so it will fit in my Lee pot? Already tried a hatchet/axe with no luck. Also tried my bandsaw but that did not work very well either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! BTW, the lead ranges in thickness from about 1 1/2" to 2 1/2" thick.
  13. Thanks to all for the replies. I spoke with Charles today and am going to go with his company. Thanks again!
  14. I am looking for skirt material in green pumpkin. I can find it with black flake etc. Does anyone know of a source for this? I found green pumpkin in rubber from Stamina but really was wanting silicone. I would have thought that someone would manufacture these. Just looking for plain green pumpkin.
  15. Bob, Where do you buy devcon 2T in 9 oz. bottles. I can only find it in the syringes at Walmart. Thanks!
