Very nice! Those look killer. Is that holographic tape on the outside or is it inside the blank?
-
Haha... I've already been looking in bead shops and clacking different material together to try and find that "perfect" bass hypnotizing sound.

Neat looking lures! I'm not too familiar with musky fishing, does a glider walk-the-dog underwater? Do you use a corkscrew to attach the tail?

Thanks guys! To tell you the truth, it started off with laziness! The design was created through a series of sanding steps with my belt sander and I simply didn't round off the edges. I don't know what sparked the flat head, I think Pabst Blue Ribbon and Jim Beam were the culprits. I started liking the look and over the past year I just emphasized some of the angles but kept the hefty belly look. This lure has a very wide wobble in comparison to square bills and dives about an extra foot deeper, but that may be more material influenced than design. I'm not sure if the angles do much for the action, I just like the look and it catches me fish. I'm hoping to try one out with the rattle/hunter method that Mark Paulson expressed too.

Wow. That's a wild looking lure.

very nice! Incredible foil work.

very nice! Epoxy or Solarez?
-
cool... very nice carving.

beautiful work!

Thanks man. The dark line is made by layering chameleon paint (purple/ green) over a light black line.
As for the angles, I'm not sure if they make a difference or not. I just like the look is all. I fish these just as much as a fish KVD and RCs and just let the fish decide what they want for the day.

haha... thanks. this one took a lot of work.

Sad to say, the fin definitely can alter the lure. About half of the ones I made like this had severely hindered wobbles. I eventually was able to get the fin just small enough to avoid this.
-
excellent work! I especially like the fin.... In saying so I'm jealous! I haven't made a fin come out that nice with paint yet.
-
as always, your work seems to set the bar! incredible stuff man.
-
neat work. would like to see the back... looks like some choppers are in the mix.
-
incredible paint man. question though, I was about to crash in my tent and saw the bug mesh that makes up the top half and thought it would make for a great stencil. The scale mesh on your lure looks very similar. It may be worth having a duct taped hole if it comes out like that!

killer gill plates!

excellent work! definitely one to be proud of!
-
fantastic paint! dead on.

thats wild... dig it! very curious about action as well.

those are some wicked baits man! very good job on the photo finish!

i roll the pattern on. i have a cheap ratchet tool that Ive had since 7th grade and the only thing I use it for is to roll foil. Ive tried several other tool handles, tool bits, etc. the hardest part is finding a pattern that wont shred your foil when you roll it. fyi, you need to clear coat over the foil before you paint. the paint just scatters on raw foil and you risk ruining your scale pattern w/out the protective coating)

wow... thats nuts! very unique to say the least!

very cool bait! Surprisingly, young of the year catfish are high on a bass's list of favorite meals. Channel catfish have a hard time naturally reproducing in reservoirs due to the impact of predation on the juveniles (which is one reason why catfish stockings take place). They're slow, nutritious, and delicious! I'd appreciate seeing some results from this lure. I've a catfish lure in the makings, but it's very far from the finish line. Just as a side note, bass have actually been used to control stunted bullhead populations as a successful management strategy. Good luck fishing.
