  1. Is the next one going to be the size of a quarter too! hmmm... ultra ultra lite swimbaits? im sure if someone can do it, it be you.

Oregon is cool... fishing is a culture shock. bass are not looked upon like they are in the midwest. smallmouth are hated by salmon and trout fisherman. Its been kind of tough fishing for me so far, bass #s seem to be lower overall in comparison to Indiana. However, the ones that you do catch seem to be fatty trout bass! seems like i'll have to jump on the trout swimbait bandwagon and whittle me up a couple for the spring.

  2. Nice bait! I definately have an appreciate for the smaller jointed baits... haha, smaller as in not a 10" swimbait. Not to bash the big baits, if I had bass in Indiana that would tackle a 10+" swimbait consistently I would definately do it. You definately run out of room fast when throwing in all the components. Needless to say, your baits are great! Keep up the fine work.

I paint my bait first. However, on my hinges I have just one set of eye screws (twisted wire) for each section. I cut my slots into the bait and run a wire up throught the eyes. I paint and clear before ever putting the bait together though. I learned my lesson the first time when I got epoxy on my hinges. Its also much easier to paint each section separate(especially when doing scale patterns). After clearing, I put the bait together (run my wire up through the eye screws) and put a dot of epoxy over the wire hole. It blends in pretty good and you don't have the risk of ruining a bait and wasting the several hours it takes to get to that stage. Thats my :twocents: worth. Hope this helps.
