  1. I had the same problem with mixing. I started using M-F plastic and have had great luck.
  2. Being color challenged myself, I have to ask my wife what color im making lol. When I hit the mark, I write down the recipe. I can come up with some interesting colors
  3. you can use a small bead of silicone under the masters to prevent the baits from lifting. also when I make a pop mold, I put only enough pop around the masters so that when it starts to set it holds them down, and then fill the mold the rest of the way with pop. This way they cant float up. anyway it works for me. good luck:teef:
  4. The last 3 pop molds that I have made, I added the 50/50 elmers and water mixture about 1 hour after the plaster was mixed and poured. The pop is still very green at this point. I only applied the elmers mix one time (coat). I have yet to see the first bubble come up. I think the elmers blends with the moisture that is in the green pop. anyone else tried this? Also, whoever came up with the tip for using 2 sided scotch tape to hold down the masters.......Thanks... best tip ever:worship:
  5. You might get 3 molds out of the trial size. I love this stuff for making molds, heat has not been an issue for me, they hold up well. I just got the gallon size oomoo25
  6. go down to the lumber yard and get a large bag of plaster any try anything you like. we learn by trying new things, and if the mold dont turn out very good, just toss it and start over. the plaster is cheap. The more molds you make the better you will get. I like to seal the plaster with epoxy, its gives my molds a glassy finish.

faerie's finest - pure, natural essential oils I have not purshsed from this company yet, but i plan to give them a try.
  8. Has anyone else tried OOMOO 25 silicone rubber from smooth-on? This rubber is used to make molds for candles and other craft items. I used it once for soft plastics and I am pleased with the results. I have never tried the other RTV, so hard to compare them.
  9. Do not use Berkley powerbait scent in hot plastic. I tried lol. big mess. Only use oil based scents when cooking. I have used fish formula. there is garlic, shad and anis. I have also used YUM scent
  10. Thanks, my wife wont let me keep my deer mounts in the house lol, so they go here. The radio, tv and coffee pot are amoung the most important things to have at your work station lol. Got to stay up on my football.
  11. couple of pics of my work station, very simple but it works for me
  12. Jeremy, the size and amount of equipment you need strickly depends on the amount of work you plan to do. I myself am small potato's. One corner of my garage is dedicated to my plastics. I have a work bench I built from old 2x4s and plywood. I use burners insted of a microwave. I bought a nice heavy duty wire shelf to keep my supplies on, and a cabinet with sink. I also instaled a large pegboard on the wall. The most important piece of equipment has to be the coffee pot however. LOL How can anyone get any work done without coffee. Dont forget ventalation, at the very least you need to have a fan to move out any smoke. Im going to take some pic's soon to post.
  13. Bass Pro Shops only carries supplies for pouring lead. Ive been talking to them in hopes of getting them to restock plastic supplies but, sounds like they are not interested. would save me a lot in shipping since i live just minutes away from the main store in Springfield.
  14. I use a very thin layer of clear silicone. place your baits on it and allow it to dry for about 10 minutes before adding resin. you will be able to get your masters out without tearing them.
