  1. I called s/w about a year ago looking for their best coating for saltwater baits, the tech told me before I got to far that rexthane was the best they had for baits..so off I went to my local store, well! as it turned out the mass voc laws will no longer let it in to the state to be sold here..they had a gal. of white in the back room, but no clear..shelf life is only a year on it and the price on it was 91.00, with contractors discount...they do have a marine clear that I need to look into, but again it'll chew up close to a 100.00 a gal...have to think hard about that one..
  2. I'll have to try some nu-lustre soon, but I understand there's now 3 different types, one or two with uv added and etex has somewhere around 4-5 different types, but only one with uv added which I beleive is ex-74..the tech told me most use crystal sheen on baits but again that has no uv's in it....good greef!
  3. Just wondering if nu-lustre sticks or glues itself to the paint..as I've been finding most epoxies are just a shell over the paint like systems 3-west system -etex etc.
  4. base coat...has to be high gloss[spray can]any color..then while it's wet spray a coat of flat paint on[any color]...what happens is the gloss takes longer to dry while the flat dries fast..the flat will slide over the gloss crackling as it goes.
  5. Txs for the reply..the medium I was refering to is the thinner..milky white you can add to paint to thin it out. They have airbrush medium[thinner] then they make a "matte" medium which is thicker, but looks just the same as the thinner liquid,,,trying to see if anyone knows if they are the same ...one reduced for airbrush the other looks to be made for reg. paint brushes..confused yet...I am.
  6. Just watered down liquitex matte medium? which is abit thicker but can be reduced by 25% with water...will it serve the same purpose? or it a different beast altogether..txs.
  7. Same brush as air pro-/airbrush city. seems their all jumping on this gun now. Price depends on how much they put in the box as far as goodies go.Airbrush city came with hose[a nice soft one] extra needles etc. air-pro you just get the gun.But if you ask they throw in a cheap 6'hose..I've found I just take the very tip off and they spray better, no spitting . only draw back is you need to be carefull you don't hit the needle tip on anything. It's taken me about two weeks to find how to adjust these guns to the different colors...they do like thinned paint better then right out of the bottle...very easy to clean.
