  1. I've made swim baits with screw eyes and bike spokes but was wondering if anyone has used tyvek to connect the sections in a joined bait. Tyvek is water proof, hard to tear and sounds perfect...anyone ever try it?

    Poplar glide bait

    Here is a poplar glide bait that I carved out of poplar. The finish is photo foil with a top coat of etex. The lure weighs 1.75oz and is 4 inches long. The lure is a fast sinking glide bait. Also, I caught a schoolie striped bass on it today!

  5. I just bought one on Craigslist for $65 without any bits. Keep your eyes open. I used it for the first time the other day with 3/8 rounding bit with a bearing....shapes great freehand!
  6. Has anyone given any thought to creating a robotic fishing lure? There are kids toys out there (mostly crap) that look like a fish and swim. There are other robotic fish that I've seen on youtube that look exactly like fish. I would love to make something like this...does anyone have any advice? Here is one of the videos:
