  1. they was for sale in the classified http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/topic/18137-aluminum-swimbait-molds/
  2. This is correct, I had this little issue and next day they was fine.
  3. Yea cool and nice color. Im starten off with stiks too, they are a great bait to throw
  4. Agree, I've started as a Hobby for me and my son, why we do it? Well it was said perfectly by smalljaw right there.
  5. I've not been real big on plastic swim baits. The ones of tried over the counter haven't impressed me, I seen a Bob's Baby-e mold for sale recently and it looked good, so I was wondering about a good swim bait(mold) for Bass and what you all recommend from experience, cause I have no Idea? I'd like to have one that is not prone to roll easy, This is what has annoyed me in the past, I'd like for it to stay right side up and can do some killer magic in the water, I'm not particular with size right now But the ones I have tried in the past were small so maybe a bigger one might be the trick? Interested in aluminum molds, hand or inject is fine either way for me, This is a hobby for me so single cavity is fine. thanks for any feedback

  11. I did the tips like BBK does, But my son did the cutting Im gonna look into a tip mold this Feb, Lord willing. Given a choice I always pick a chartail stik if available, now I know where to get some
  12. Thanks guys, Thats a Bear mold BBK
  13. same here, I pour in a shed, and once the exhaust fan comes on the temp will drop, its all well and fine but, it has a disadvantage for me on bubbles, I was trying the ol' 20degree higher temp and let it sit so the bubbles would have a chance to disappear before I shot. The plastic cools down way to fast because of the cold I think, at least This is what Im struggling with right now
  14. well fellas I posted here first back in Oct with questions on starting a hobby for me and my son, Well Im happy to report we finally made our first baits I believe we're gonna have some fun, Thanks
  15. What kind of mold ya gonna use? pop/resin?
  16. Man, they look great, I can't wait to make some stiks. what are the bottom ones called?
  17. Interesting!? One more here, how fast does it heat up, lets say your trying a new color and so its a smaller batch? it appears I could use my infrared thermometer and have a step up to not burning it than on a microwave?
  18. Longhorn is there a less of an oppurtunity to burn the plastic this way? and By chance does it cut down on the smoking part? I have not heard of this style(newbie) and I have yet to pick a heat source yet
  19. Well its awful coincidental I start up here intrested in making baits and everyone leaves Good Lord just tell me if I need a tick tack or something
  20. Yea awsome job on the report and totally agree!
  21. welcome here ya go http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/topic/16783-diy-aninstant-12-rd-rtv-silicone-mold-for-under-a-buck/
  22. Honesty is best, and I think this is what its all about. Things adapt and change, I'd be proud of knowing this all started from hand pourers. I mean look at whats been created and what you guys have done for goodness sakes! wouldn't you realize that newbies like myself would look up to you hand guys because of your skill and knowledge? I think this would be the best thing to happen to you guys, it would in my mind seperate you that much more from what has become of lure making, could legends come into play here? seriuosly think of it. I know Its human to feel threat from something but, I'm a guy thats just looking into a hobby that intrest me and I'm tickled at what is all available. When I dig deep and find out that there is a internal war going!? Then thats a big turn off, if I go to injection then I already know how I'll be looked at and possibly treated from the pourers! this is like Harley riders verses rice rockets. So, I believe its a feeling of threat from this new injection stuff, but its way from it. Really they all should be called CUSTOM baits anyways period Just a newbie looken how to make baits 2cents worth
  23. So I can get into trouble for making baits off of these molds? I'm abit confused, Is making a rod a copyright infridgment? Can you compare rules between making a bait verses making a rod? Lets take stik worms, I wanna pour my own as a hobby-would this be against the law or only it turns into one if I try to sell them? I mean this lure making industry seems HUGE to me, theres so many company's out there that offer materials and stuff to us, and its not shut down, why? I'm gonna stop there, I think I'm just confused here?
  24. I'm not in your all's league, so let me humbly ask a few simple question. Is Lonnie the Big guy here? the one that has the deepest pockets? Or did he just bluff the others? I looked at all three sites and his was the least impresive, as for layout goes to me.
  25. Alright guys thanks for convincing me, it makes sense, I knew they was able to pour big, but I was thinking they could pour small also. I was considering just using the pot for injection and not bother with a spout and stirrer. It sounds like they are strictly for big uses only. Thanks again
