  1. If you can't find the exact skirt just find the closest color you can and dress it up with a little fly fishing flash material. There are dozens out there in varying textures, patterns, sheen and amount of flash. Many colors of their materials come in Peacock Green which is very popular because of its multicolor iridescent nature.

    Wire?

I think buying industrial single strand stainless wire is the cheapest. Make sure you get a softer grade for bending. It is mostly sold in 5lb and sometimes 1lb coils of 302/304 grade. A lot of times they don't make exactly .051 or .043 wire but always something very close. If you can buy about $100 worth most wire manufacturers will sell it direct for WAY cheaper than the other resellers listed here. Fishing grade wire is usually the same thing it is just pre-screened to be softer for bending so you don't have to know wire ratings. It is also usually packaged in smaller amounts.
  3. I have also found the Indiana blades to not be standardized by numerical size. One dealers may be a full size or more smaller than another. The .040 number 9's at Stamina are the best Indiana I have found. They are well plated, big and really thump hard. They are my favorite all around large blade. I like to move to a 10 Colorado after that if I need more. There is a much wider variety of Colorado's available in that larger size. The Colorado's are also not standardized numerically. They can vary quite a bit too.

    Flashabou

The guy at Hedron is really easy to work with. He really knows his flash line and will spend time with you to find exactly what you need. He honors his dealer channel and sells at list but has every kind he makes at the same place unlike most dealers. He also knows the old stuff from the new which some dealers do not. I checked out that flytyersdungeon and found their products to be very well priced. Several of his competing products were $1.25 a hank. His shipping is $3 up to $25 too. I am going to try some of his stuff.

    Flashabou

I picked some up on ebay this week. Unfortunately it is the 1/32" and not the thicker stuff. It is also a mixed color batch that is limited in its use. I much prefer solid colors. It was cheap though.
  6. Finding a fly vise to hold the throttle cable is going to be challenging. It is about 1/8
